The International Make-Up Artist Trade Show, or IMATS, is the world's largest celebration of makeup artistry. Pro leaders from fashion and film (including Oscar, BAFTA and Saturn award winners) provide education and demonstrations at IMATS, and new products often debut there. Before IMATS, there were no shows specifically designed for makeup artists, although cosmetic companies had expressed a desire for such an event.

Ha ha what can I say I'm here at a makeup show. Well I have been coming down here for years. This year seemed to be a bit more organized then the previous years. The lines moved fast. The vendors booths were spread out just enough so you weren't bunched together. Definitely gotten better I do with they did a bit more with the movie makeup area and the Museum part of the event. My Over all experience was good. I'm sure I will be back again next year.

So, what's a girl's best friend?! The answers are probably endless! But, for the purpose of this review... we'll just say that it's makeup. I mean, I can most certainly say that it's one of my best friends! It's one of those things that you can never seem to get enough of.

For makeup addicts like myself, the IMATS is purely a dream. So much makeup and so much fun! This is my second time attending and I've gotten some of the best deals that I've ever gotten on makeup right here at this tradeshow. Aside from the all of the fabulous makeup that's available

I had the BEST time ever!!! Very well put together event. Super organized and some great products and deals. They have food inside and several vendors were outside across the street. The time and effort they put into the makeup artistry is impeccable! Great customer service. You can pay cash or use your credit card. They have gift bags with samples at some of the makeup counters. This will definitely be my annual girls trip event. Perfect for makeup lovers!

My first year here! Clearly they are making BANK off just the ticket prices bc it's not really worth 60 dollars PER DAY. Us regular folks have to pay that amount but if ur a pro then it drops down to a much more reasonable 40 bucks a day. Don't get me wrong tho, I really enjoyed my time here and I'll try for a Saturday ticket next year.

I got here late afternoon on a Sunday which was a big mistake. A lot of stuff was sold out but at least the plus was that the crowd had thinned out considerably and I, as a first timer, could get the lay of the land. So many booths from brands and

Love makeup?! You HAVE to come at least once in your life to experience this. This last January was my first time going on pro night and it was FABULOUS! It starts from 3-7pm, it wasn't as crowded, the lines to get product weren't ridiculous as the days for the public and we had dibs on everything!

Here are a few things to keep in mind before attending...

If you know you want to go... BUY TICKETS IN ADVANCE! Check their website.. If you have a license in the industry of any sorts, apply for a pro-card! It's free and GO ON PRO NIGHT!

While you're on the webpage, check

I attended IMATS for the first time in January of 2015, and it definitely lived up the hype associated with it. The discounts were amazing, I got to meet several artists that I have been following on social media for quite some time, and had a great time overall. I already purchased tickets for 2016, and I am certainly looking forward to coming back!

Attended IMATS in 2015 for the first time and HOLY Smokes! Better take a lot of money with you because they have packed that place with awesome vendors and sites to spark a ton of creativity! Their speakers were amazing and the talent in that place was ok incredible! Their check in process went very well, the only problem I saw were the lines for the top products were unbelievably long. you better know what you want when you get your chance to order because they are serious! Buy the 2 day ticket as well, we thought we had seen it all in one day, but the second day we actually spent money in some

This is such a fantastic event for makeup artists, as well as makeup fans. I have attended this event 2 years now and hope to return again this year (one year I hope to return as a pro).

There is the main showroom with popular makeup brands, as well as more local indie brands all usally discounted and even more discounted for pros. They also have panels with makeup demonstrations, and even real artists that come from television shows such as American Horror Story. There is another room that is set up with sillicone and latex monster heads. Really amazing to look at up close. There are also students

CAN'T WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR

Was this not like the best day ever. It was my first time coming and now I wish I could go to all the events they have all over the world. It was fun, from waiting in the longest lines to meeting so many wonderful people. oh boy! Definitely will be going again next year fursure!

If you're a make up geek like me definitely bring anywhere from $200-$500 to spend! So many discounts, I know MAC had a 40% off, sigma was anywhere from 30% - 40% off as well. I don't think Anastasia had any discounts but they were giving free eyebrow waxes. But seriously get here

IMATS was amazing. If you're even mildly interested in cosmetics, you need to be at this. Get your tickets early because they sell out! When the show opens, the line wraps around the entire block but don't worry, it moves pretty quickly. There are the usual bloggers ;-) professional/celebrity makeup artists, brand reps/vendors, industry leaders... etc. I went to Eve Pearl's class which was awesome, she's the Sheryl Sandberg of makeup, so business savvy and grounded despite the recognition she gets. There's tons of artists displaying their skills on models in Special FX

I went the first year IMATS came to Los Angeles and it was the greatest thing ever. MAC was 40% off and MUFE also had a similar discount. Fast forward a few years later... The ticket entrance prices is now $50 dollars !! Ridiculous. Not only has the entrance price went up but the great discounts that made IMATS an event worth going to is simply not worth it.

WILL not be going this year.

Pure makeup & beauty heaven! There are tons of vendors here! Some even give free samples, free make-overs, demonstrations. Previews and or sales of new products not yet released to the public. Great discounts for professional MUA's and makeup junkies. Celebrity makeup artists, beauty bloggers, youTube gurus, schools, etc. My only gripe is that there is only ONE day for the Pro MUA's and the hours are only from 2pm to 6pm, which is certainly not enough time. But I prefer to go on the Pro day because it's not as crazy. Because the days they are open to the public is INSANE.

I have been attending the IMATS for years now and i must say i never cease to be amazed. This is the number one event for sfx and makeup artists all year. IMATS is the place where makeup artists from all over the world gather to give classes share knowledge and a love for the art. It has everything any type of artist could need from foam latex prosthetic pieces to artisan lashes. Plus you get the pleasure of walking around amongst the most influential makeup artists of our age including Jeff Dawn, Ve Neill, Rae Morris and Neill Gorton. Rick Baker is even one of the keynote speakers this year. There

I went to IMATS in 2010. Decided I should review it as I was putting on almost all my makeup from that day...and how happy attending IMATS makes me even now...

I got there as soon as the doors opened and I was just overwhelmed by all of the makeup! I got my ticket online and that was cheaper and convenient then buying it at the door. The whole convention was packed with makeup vendors, classes and makeup lovers of course!

NYX: My favorite go-to for blushes is NYX of Los Angeles. A very affordable brand, I purchased a lifetime supply of blush, about 5 or 6 different ones, a $5 kabuki brush which

IMATS what girl wouldn't want to go?!?!?! Well its definitely not for those who have no patience because once you get there there are already lines forming. At 8am the line was already so long that I think they started letting people in even though it was not officially supposed to open until 8:30.

Some big brands that people flocked to and usually had some wait times were:

MAC
MUFE
Inglot
Crown Brush
Naime's

I was a bit disappointed because I thought all of MUFE's products were going to be 40% which is why I heard the line to purchase for it was so long. But that 40% off only
