The issue was whether student records, with the personal identification information of the student redacted, were available via an Open Public Records Act Request. CB sent her school an Open Public Records Request for her child's student records. The school denied CB access. CB filed an Complaint with the New Jersey Government Records Council who ordered the school provide CB access to her child's student records and will decide CB's request for her attorney's fees.

CB v Berlin Twp. Bd. of Ed.: CB filed New Jersey Law Against Discrimination lawsuit for being repeatedly and severely bullied. DK v Washington Twp Bd of Ed.: The Court granted our request for an injunction against the Board's indefinite suspension of DK for drawing a stick figure shooting a gun in his computer graphics class.
D.F. v Collingswood: D.F. filed for due process and sought compensatory education. During due process, the Judge dismissed his petition because he moved out of New Jersey. D.F. appealed to District Court who affirmed.
D.F. appealed to the Third Circuit, who in a precedential published decision, reversed and remanded holding special education students who may have been deprived of FAPE do not lose their right to compensatory education by moving out of the state where their school district is located.

NJ Department of Education adopts rules, regulations, policies and procedures in providing oversight of the provision of educational services to students in New Jersey. NJ Department of Education HIB provides information, statistics, statutes, regulations, case law and resources regarding the prevention of Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying of students in New Jersey students.

My exsperances with Mr. Epstein was Exceptionally outstanding. He is very knowledgeable about special education law. I went in his office and was expecting to only deal with the current district where my child was attending school.
After reviewing my records Mr. Epstein showed me how the last 3 districts that educated my child were in complete violation. We hired Mr. Epstein and have not regretted it. He pursued all 3 cases in the mist of a global pandemic and won every single one!!

Jamie just finished my child's case. From our first discussion to our last, I found Jamie showed me why he is an expert in education law. All Jamie asked from me is to get him my son's records and information about my son's education and Jamie did the rest. Jamie got the school to give me the most important services I had been asking the school for years. Jamie got my son's school to pay almost all of his fees and I got back almost all of my small retainer. This was all well worth it. I also learned alot about how to stand up for my son's rights in the future. My son's school would not listen to

I couldn’t have been more happy with Mr. Epstein’s knowledge of special education rights. He’s very dedicated to his clients, which made a world of a difference for me and my son. I’ve heard nightmare stories from other parents who had hired a lawyer and felt like they dealt more with their lawyers secretary than their actual lawyer. Mr. Epstein is different. In my role as an expert and consultant in disabilities, I've had numerous opportunities to work with Jamie Epstein. It's clear to me that he's exceptionally knowledgeable about disability law and that his decisions justifiably reflect the interests of the child's right to a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). Whenever we've disagreed, which is inevitable in the 30+ years we've known each other, we've always resolved the issues in ways that served the child's FAPE rights. Thus my 5 star rating for an attorney dedicated to the rights and needs of people with disabilities.
