Services
Misti Raman, DMD, was born and raised in the greater Columbia area. After graduating from Brookland-Cayce High School, she proceeded to earn her bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina and her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina's College of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Karen Wurster earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree at the University of South Carolina. She continued her education at the Kois Center in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Wurster has an eye for design and applies her creativity to making smiles beautiful.

I used to be satisfied with Irmo Smiles, but up until recently, I realised how poorly made my crown was. I have a molar crown made by another dentist and it’s superb; I’ve had it for years and years with no fractures. My molar I got from Irmo Smiles cracked twice; the first time, they fixed it but the second time my insurance didn’t even cover it… because they don’t cover crowns younger than ten years-old, why? Because crowns shouldn’t break twice in two years. I’m not some aggressive power-chewer who’s chewing on rocks. I’ve done nothing different

I had my first appointment with Irmo Smiles several weeks ago and the dental service received was superb, however the customer experience was extremely off putting.
As a first time client, I was immediately pitched about their referral program and how each person I referred would get me a ticket into a drawing. (focused on me bringing in other people, not on retaining my business) I understand the reason for the "sales pitch," however I have yet to even experience their service so I have no reason to wish to refer yet. I believe this pitch should be saved to the end of the exam. Something like

They would not allow me to go with my son to be there when he got his braces off! After paying these people over $5,000 and waiting two and a half years, they won't let me be there so I can take pictures and share this once-in-a-lifetime experience with my son??!! And yes, I AM FULLY VACCINATED, HAVE MY CARD TO PROVE IT, and am WEARING A MASK! When I protested, I was given two different justifications by two different people. First, I was told it was because of Covid; then when I told another employee that I had my vaccination card, she said it was because there's not enough room

I emailed at the end of November AND called just recently to find out if they were in network with TriCare and Delta Dental because I feel like my current dentist isn’t helping me. No return email and no return call for the voicemail I left. Every time I try calling, there’s no answer. I suppose it’s back to researching local dentists.

I went to Irmo Smiles due to a recommendation. The staff was friendly and cordial. I had a couple of bad teeth that I needed removed. They took my insurance card and information and I was taken to an office. At that point the Dr Recommended three extactions. I inquired how much would that cost after insurance. The nurse took my card again, and came… back with an amount of $246.60. I once again asked it that was my total out of pocket expense, she said yes. I told the Dr to proceed and he did. Again, a very friendly staff checked me out, took the money and that was that. Until I got a bill

This is the best dentist office ever! I'll start with I'm absolutely scared of the dentist and as soon as I was greeted at the front desk it all subsided. I got to walk through and see the whole office and staff... everyone was smiling and attentive. Once I got to my room they made sure everything was custom to my liking.. including the built in heater/massage chair that I got to sit in during my exam😁. They made sure I understood everything going on inside my mouth and they helped to create a personal plan of action. I will def be back and Thanks again Irmo smiles😁

I’ve been going to another dentist but I felt I wasn’t fully satisfied. So I decided to give these guys a try . My first visit I knew I was in the right place. My second visit confirm it, Karen was amazing and my smile has never looked better. So glad I made the switch. Highly recommended hands down 😁

They are lucky I didn’t come with my wife to my sons first dentist appointment, after the story I heard from my wife and mother in law..got there 30 mins early to complete paper work and still waited an… additional 20 mins when there was NO ONE ELSE THERE.. that will be the last time we will ever go to this office. I learned I had s couple of cavities during a cleaning st another dentist, and came here to get s price on fillings. They wanted extensive xrays first, which I paid for, and then wanted to do more extensive prep work before they'd do the fillings, amounting to about $2500!! AFTER that they would give me a quote on the fillings! Needless to say I went back to the first dentist to get my work done and am very happy with his rates and work. These people are too expensive for my budget! If you have dental insurance and plenty of money, you've probably found the right place. If on a budget

My son was a patient for the first time two weeks ago for a cleaning. Dentist told me he had early periodontal disease extremely rare for a 13 year old. Dr. Wurster a dentist there told me he had the mouth of a 50 year old . Severe gum issues and possible bone loss. She said wait till you hear how much you cost up your parents to fix your gums. Went out a couple days,later got a second opinion he had no gum disease no issues at all. New dentist said he did not understand how they rates my kids guns a 5 all around his mouth. I'm out a 100.00 forwarding second opinion but I guess worth it.

Too much change of professional staff, (pediatric office) from the dental hygienist to the dentists. We left the practice after a year and half. Wish we would have left earlier, one the rotating dentists work has already had to be redone. Really disappointed since the practice had great reviews from friends.

My children & I love Irmo Smiles. I especially love the fact that we can all be seen under one roof and usually in the same day. If my appointment has not concluded before my kids', they love to hang out in the game room. Oh and BONUS FEATURE: they have fresh baked Otis Spunkmeyer cookies when your visit has finished!

I've been a patient since 2013 of both Drs. Jim and Misty. I met them at a wedding expo and they've been the same genuine people since. Dr. Bill has also been great in the last year he's worked with me. I don't want to single out any hygienist, or forget names, but I haven't met one that doesn't make me feel welcome and a part of their family. I've even brought my husband, mother-in-law and co-workers to Irmo Smiles because of how great they've been to me. My daughter will be joining the family this Spring with her first cleaning.

I went here and initially I loved it. Then I got a bill for a service that I had paid for in full while I was there! I called and was told they had some issues with the person who was handling insurance claims, and they had been let go. They assured me my bill would be handled. During this time they also told me my son had a cavity that needed to be filled. Luckily I took him to get a second opinion. No cavity.... 3 yrs later still no cavity and my bill still hasn't been fixed correctly. Needless to say I have a $122 account on my credit report that I'd rather keep, then give them anymore

My orthodontist that did my braces as a child is in Florida, and after getting some fillings I needed to get my retainer adjusted. My dentist recommended this office and I had to go through the whole new patient stuff. The staff was extremely friendly, however I was not the biggest fan of Dr. Raman. All I needed was my retainer adjusted and he was concerned about putting me back in braces at the cost of 6 thousand dollars. In July I got two cavities filled by Misti Raman at Irmo Smiles. She performed the entire procedure in about 20 minutes. I had severe pain in my teeth for weeks and went back FOUR times to get the issue corrected. Finally, after not being satisfied with her ability to fix the problem, I went to another dentist. He informed me that my fillings were not properly attached to my teeth and my bite was off which is why I had such pain. He easily fixed them in one procedure by taking out my fillings and completely redoing them. I was finally able to chew on that side of my mouth and drink cold water again

Nice, friendly, well trained, highly professional staff. Amazing, high-tech, comfortable, super-convenient new offices in Irmo, SC. They do more than just clean and care for teeth. They go way above and beyond in everything they do. They care about the people they serve, not just getting their insurance money.
