Services
Doctors of optometry are independent, primary healthcare providers who examine, diagnose, treat and manage diseases and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures as well as diagnose related systemic conditions. Rx change through Lasik co-management offering the latest in laser surgery or non-surgically with contact lenses.
The eye is an incredibly complex organ. It has many components; neurological, vascular, muscular, mucous membrane and connective tissues. It is susceptible to various diseases of the eye and also is impacted by systemic problems. During the eye examinations, many of the tests performed are screening tests to determine if there is an eye disease.
Traumatic brain injury, whiplash or a stroke leave many with a residual impairment of the visual system. This can result in an inability to recuperate because we are visually oriented. So much of our function is guided by or dependent on vision. There is a need for the brain to coordinate visual and other sensory inputs.
