**UPDATE** We’ve been coming here for 6 years and absolutely love it. It did however drop a star due to the very poor internet. The last 2 years the internet has been very poor. Extremely slow speeds and very unreliable. Otherwise its a great place to vacation.
While our condo was a bit of a mess it wasn't at the fault of the entire compound. We will rent directly from the building group next time. We will be bqck yearly.

We rented a unit here for the week and had a very bad experience. The team never finished cleaning the unit. It appears they started and just left mid clean leaving dirty towels, trash on the floor, personal hairs in the bath tub, a roll of pepper towels on the floor etc. It appeared it had been a while since the unit had a proper clean. There was green mold on the shower curtain and a suspect substance on the bath mat. We contacted the managed company 4 times without response. Do not rent a unit here or consider purchasing a rental if this company is managing it. We feel bad for the owners. They

Terrible experience.
Avoid it and use the RV park instead if you want to stay in Sandbridge.
The staff was extremely rude, nearly everything was broken (pool, grills, and several amenities), and the fire alarm kept going off on several days while we stayed there.
Avoid the pool bar unless you want to be yelled at by a cranky, inappropriate, political staff member he pool bar.
We also found glass smashed all around our car in the parking deck, told staff about it and hours later no one had picked it up despite several people walking around barefoot.
The beach was the only redeeming quality

The unit we booked advertised “Early Check-in” as one of the amenities, but we were told that meant you could “pay” extra and check-in early! Not a very pleasant staff. Then, we check into our unit, it is really nice. However the pool near our unit is “CLOSED FOR THE SEASON” and it’s the middle of July! Next, we came down to our car and it was towed. We were told the parking pass had to be hanging from the review mirror not laying on the dash-our paper hook tore off--$145 to get our car back.
While I love our unit and how well it is equipped, I doubt we will rebook for next year

This unit is NOT as described. It was dirty, not well maintained and contained health and fire hazards. Upon arrival the hot water heater was not turned on, the floors were extremely sticky and the return air vent and ceiling fans were thick with dirt. The air vents in the three front bedrooms had black mold surrounding them. Furniture, the kitchen faucet and microwave, the master shower handle were all in need of repair. We love coming to sandbridge and have visited many times over the years. This is our 2nd visit to the Sanctuary. Our unit is 118B (Crab Dip) . It’s cute, but super disappointed in the check in process. We paid for early check in, so 1pm. Arrived at 2pm and the unit hadn’t been cleaned. We walked back over to the check in office and they apologized, refunded our early check in fee, and we spent the afternoon at the pool. So that’s understandable, stuff happens. Our condo was ready at 5pm.
I was more disappointed in the cleaning job they did however. I ended up having to sweep, and wipe down

3 of the 4 elevators in the complex are broke. One elevator that is working was on the complete opposite side of the parking spot and rental. When we first arrived, there was no indication on the elevators that they were broke so we waited several minutes at elevators that weren't working. Also, we received an email prior to arriving that stated what to do if we arrived after hours and those instructions were completely wrong. It was quite an inconvenience trying to figure out where to go with luggage and beach equipment only to be re-routed 4 times. The complex itself needs some cosmetic upgrades

If you want an ocean view be sure to check when reserving. Our unit was cozy and quiet. Mattresses a little uncomfortable. Could have used an couple extra pillows but no extra pillowcases were on them. Unit was not clean.. Dirt on the carpet, many unclean spots on couch and carpets. Items found under beds. Dust and crumbs on tables, cobwebs in ceiling corners, missing light bulbs or not working. Bring your own BIG coffee mugs. Washer was not agitating well. Bring extra toilet paper as you get only 1 roll per bath. Toaster was full of bread crumbs from prior occupants. Counters had not be cleaned

Not sure why there is a review discussing the cabana bar and its owner when this is for sanctuary realty reviews only. Get a grip YELP! Also the one complaining about the pools being closed-um yeah there is this virus among us and at that time the VA governor had not allowed pools to be opened. Do your homework before leaving false reviews.

Awful customer service. Doug that runs the pools and cabana was consistently rude, unkind and mean to all the guests and even worse with the poor people who worked there. There are 32 of us staying here this wk, but we will not be returning and we will advise everyone we know not to come here. We have never been treated so poorly at a place where we have spent so much money on condos and drinks and food from the cabana.

We arrived on Saturday night September 5th around 11:00 pm. We rented A210 Safe Haven. The office was difficult to find as the neon light to the office was not working. Once we found the office and lock box it was difficult to set and open the lock because there was no light and the lock box is silver and so are the numbers. We received our packet and there was 2 parking tags with our space on then but only one space. I called the emergency number and the were able to fix that problem. There are 4 elevators for building "A" but only one was working and it was on the other side of our parking spot

We just returned from a week at The Sanctuary. We rented two units. The larger unit was very well stocked. The smaller unit not so much.
Both units were not clean: hair and dirt in the bathrooms, cobwebs, sand and mud on the balcony when we arrived. The oceanfront unit had a chaise lounge that had been removed but the cushions were left on the floor of the balcony and were filthy.
The towels and washcloths provided felt like sandpaper. The toilet paper was one ply. My Grandson's bed had sand in the bed sheets from the previous tenant.

Loved our stay here last week. Unit B231 was everything we hoped it would be, the pictures were accurate the bay view sunsets amazing. Everything needed in the kitchen was available, wifi and tvs worked great, beds were comfy. Great place to unwind and spend time with the grandkids (8, 5 & 3 yrs old) at the pool and beach. If you are there during ghost crab season be sure to take the kids out after sundown and have some extra fun, we bought the little nets with lights at the bait shop right across the street and had a blast.

Anything that could've went wrong during our stay, did! And to make matters worse, the "customer service" was ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS.... Nonexistent at best, if you will.
First of all, there is zero signage in this facility so anything from finding parking to finding the pool/beach to even finding the elevator/stairs was a hassle.
Speaking of pools, they were way too small and crowded and the hot tubs were closed for no reason whatsoever. The ONLY redeeming quality about this place was the nice beaches...

The pool was closed more often than it was open. Half of the pool area was completely closed off due to construction, which starts up at 8 am. No sleeping in at this place. I find it hard to believe that in a climate as warm as Virginia beach they couldn't have had the construction complete by the middle of july. Almost no amenities, the patio with the grills and tables was closed off.
Overall very disappointed and will be using airbnb for our next vacation. I suggest you save your money and do the same.

Absolutely love this place. Very clean, friendly, and family oriented. Very private beach which is not crowded at all!The only drawbacks is that the swim up bar could use a few more items on the menu and the pools should be open til 10:00, they close way too early around 7 or 8 and if no one is in the pool they even close a lot earlier than that. It was a beautiful evening and we went to go for a swim after dinner and the pools were all closed.

I've never stayed at condo with virtually no amenities. Horrible experience with a rude staff that didn't want to give extra towels, there was NO soap, shampoo/conditioner, toilet paper, or any other basics upon arrival. There are no words for how rude and inconsiderate the staff was. They were extremely rude to my mother. We stayed during a hurricane and they put no effort into making our stay more comfortable. I've never gone out of my way to write a bad review, but this place deserves it. Avoid at all costs unless you want to deal with a beyond bare bones place with a staff that

Stayed here 2 years ago so my memory is a bit vague.
Beautiful resort right on the beach. 3 pools - 1 has a cute cabana and swim up bar.
BEWARE: MANY spiders that come out over night (we would clean them off the baloney and they more would return the next morning.) :-/
Biggest complaint: anything you could possibly want to do is a minimum of 15 minutes away....
