Services
McMurry Moving Company understands the importance of caring for your piano when we move it. Here are some tips for long-term care to ensure a enjoyable and lasting life for your investment. Your grand or upright piano is made up of some 5,000 parts. The quality of the materials used, the design and construction, and the conditions to which the piano is subjected, will determine its lifespan.
Soundboards are notorious for collecting dust and debris. Buttons, paper clips, pencils and assorted children's toys are just a few of the items that are mysteriously drawn to a soundboard. Once these items find their way to the soundboard, the question becomes how will they get out? Your technician will know the best techniques for cleaning the soundboard, but there are a few things you can do yourself.
In general, if you find a reputable piano retailer, buying a new piano should be no problem. The choice of piano is yours, and the amount you pay will in general determine the quality of the instrument. When you find a piano that satisfies your needs, purchase the one you have tried, as another of the same make and model could be quite different in touch and tone.
Whether your piano is a fabulous baby grand or a simple upright, every responsible piano owner should be fully knowledgeable of the instrument they own. The following section of this website has been designed to provide valuable piano ownership information. Including care tips, cleaning tips and a page for frequently asked piano questions, we hope that you find the information contained helpful.
Never let anyone move your piano without proper equipment. A piano is a delicate work of art that could become expensive to repair. All it takes is one wrong move and your piano moving experience could become a catastrophe that results in a broken piano leg, damaged side or a scratched finish. Worse yet, the piano's most vital components can be severely damaged.

Greg did a difficult move of my Piano and Jukebox. All good. Communications, timeliness, and the move itself all done very nicely. Thanks Greg!

I booked McMurry to move a piano and spoke to them 3 times to confirm the date and time. The day before the scheduled piano move, they canceled with the reason being "they are no longer interested in the job, because it was too difficult." I found them to be extremely unprofessional and dismissive. I would never recommend this company.

It was very, VERY important that this baby grand piano get moved on time. I called "Greg" multiple times to make sure everything was going to happen as promised. They promised that everything was on schedule. But they did not show up. They were very good with excuses, but not good at their one job. I have now rescheduled with a different company that can hopefully show up and do the job. I highly recommend staying away from this company.

Great experience with Greg, his associate, and McMurry Piano Moving today! They quoted me a great price, and were able to fit me in quickly. I sold my piano after many, many years, and they were efficient and willing to work with a bit of “telephone” to make sure both parties were taken care of.
Very happy with the move, the price, would DEFINITELY recommend. And will use again in the future!

Greg was patient, accommodating, and knowledgeable. I am very satisfied with his service. I switched my moving date and time about 5 times. He rearranged his schedule last minute to accommodate the changes. When he arrived, Greg measured my piano and stairwell and evaluated the move, noting the narrow stairwell and that I have easily-damaged hardwood floors, to determine that is was not a good idea to attempt to move the piano up to the third floor of my townhome - too difficult and a high risk of damaging floors/wall/piano. I appreciate his honest evaluation and opinion, and that he did not try

McMurry Moving has done a great job preparing and moving my piano. I never knew it took this much knowledge and care to move a piano across town. The workers come to my home early, prepare the piano and carefully load it to the truck. There, the piano is strapped in and surrounded with cushions to alleviate scratches and marks. Their work is superb. I would use McMurry Moving for all my piano moves and recommend all my friends.

We had this company move our baby grand piano. I've used a professional piano moving company to move my baby grand piano 5 times in 9 years. Each move was done quickly and professionally with the proper equipment and the appropriate number of men. I thought I'd hired a professional piano mover, but I was wrong. Only two men showed up, and they were struggling. The process was frightening as the men were not in control of the piano and actually asked me to help them. I did not feel confident that they were going to get the piano in and out of the truck without damage, and I was right
