Daniel's Amish Collection is essentially the story of the career of Daniel Yoder, a humble Amish man from Holmes County, Ohio. In the mid-1990s Daniel's youngest son was stricken with a serious condition that required significant medical care. Over the next several months Daniel and his wife Edna made over 80 lengthy trips to the hospital.
Needing greater flexibility to provide for his son's care, Daniel resigned his job as a stone mason and started hand carving small Amish horse and buggies in his barn. That first year Daniel made 20,000 buggies - selling them to passersby for $1 each. Daniel was soon building curio cabinets in the same small shop where he made his miniature buggies.

Daniel's Amish Collection manufactures both bedroom and dining furniture in Holmes County, Ohio, the heartland of Amish living today. Holmes County is in north central Ohio, about 60 miles south of Cleveland. If I knew after waiting 32 weeks for my bedroom furniture order to be delivered that it would come in such poor condition, I would have never ordered from this maker. It should have been a lightbulb when one of the pieces Pilgrim Furniture had on the floor was damaged. I spent almost $9,000 on this furniture and it came with worn stain on the edges, a broken leg on the Ammoire, holes in the doors, drawers that wouldn’t close properly, chipped corners just to name a few of the issues on the first piece. I was ready to say forget it at that point but the delivery guys suggested to look at another

I am so happy to have made this purchase. It was worth the wait. I love how the table gently pulls apart and has storage underneath for the leafs. The craftsmanship is wonderful. I like the dark wood against my light floor and light colors in my room. It all arrived safely and I would recommend Daniel's Amish to friends and family.
