A credit union is a financial cooperative organized for the purpose of promoting savings and providing consumers with credit at favorable interest rates. All members of the credit union pool their assets, providing funds for loans to those in need within the group. Credit unions are not-for-profit cooperatives, owned and controlled by their members.
The Erie County Employees' Credit Union recently had to evaluate its Schedule of Fees. The Credit Union will be increasing certain fees, along with implementing new ones. With the rising costs of maintaining these valuable programs, the Credit Union must make adjustments to its fee structure to compensate for these cost increases.
Correspondence and/or complaints, as well as the biennial supervisory account verification, may now be submitted directly to the Supervisory Committee. This process should not be used for general inquiries but for matters the credit union has been unable to resolve through normal channels regarding the credit union and/or staff.
