In 1968, Capital City Appliance Service, Inc. was founded by the Brownfield brothers. The two-man operation sold used appliances and parts and ran service calls at their East Fifth Avenue location. The following year, the company moved to West Third Avenue in Grandview, where they remained for 29 years.
After that building was sold, the family business moved to Fisher Road on Columbus' West Side in 1998. What began as a small family operation grew to what is now a 35 employee company. Our largest growth happened when our current company president joined the team in 2001. In 2008, company founder Jim Brownfield passed away.

Have you ever considered how much refrigerators do to protect your family's health? They keep your food within a safe temperature zone so it's safe to eat when you're ready for it. Can you imagine life without a refrigerator? Having to buy food every day because there's no way to preserve it for the next day would be an extreme inconvenience.
Freezers offer similar conveniences and advantages as your refrigerator. They allow you to keep food for prolonged periods of time, prepare meals ahead of time, build a food storage and more. When they stay within the correct temperature range, zero degrees Fahrenheit or below, they thwart the growth of bacteria and allow you to save excess food.

Randy, the repairman has come out twice due to my ice maker not working. Randy did not have the good sense to check and see if the dispenser wasn’t working properly the first and second visit. My 19 year old daughter had to prompt him to check the dispenser. Randy spent a whole 20 seconds diagnosing to tell me the motor isn’t working. I feel had that this company has taken over $130 dollars for this type of service. I complained to management and the complaint had also fallen on deaf ears. If you don’t want to be frustrated with poor customer service and workers with mediocre skills. Please

Critical: Professionalism
Got this company name as a referral from a colleague to have my refrigerator checked for pending issue. Couldn't even get pass Nikki who took my initial call - not an ounce of customer service skill from this person - didn't answer my question...sounded more like a tired script. No thank you!

Moved into a brand new home, my fridge isn't working properly. Whirlpool sends these clowns to service my appliance. The tech tells me he can't fix it because the line is frozen and I need to thaw it out for a few hours. As soon as he leaves, the fridge makes one tray of ice then not again. I thaw out the fridge, at great expense as I have a family of 5 and we don't own more than 1 cooler. I thawed the fridge, and called back for service again because that didn't work. Whirlpool scheduled the appointment for the next Monday. I got a text from capital city that they only make service calls on Tuesday

Bad customer service. I was told my washer would be delivered and hooked up in two weeks and I was put on the schedule. Then my washer for delivered by the warranty company so I called them and they told me I would have to wait another 15 days for it to be hooked up. I had been without a washer for 2 months! And I was told I was on the schedule… 2 weeks prior to that! my broke washer had been sitting in my apartment for 2 months full of water, black mold had developed along with gnats and Jill told me basically so what I had to wait another 15 days. I asked her to speak with her manager

I called & made an appointment for after 4pm. I was called on the day of the appointment at 1pm, & was told that he could be at my house in 20 minutes. I told him that I was at work, & couldn’t make it, he said sorry. I then talked to a manager when I got home, & she told me the same thing. They can’t guarantee me a time, only a three hour window! Really?! How does this company stay in business?! It boggles my mind! The customer is always right! A business should cater to the customer, not the other way around!

Their customer service is less than stellar keeping it mildly. They were contacted per my washer and dryer warranty and refused to do the work because they stated that I was using the washer fir commercial use. When I told them I could provide receipts of the fallacy of that statement, they refused to take them and then sent me a bill for $85 which… I refuse to pay. I have a warranty!! I am not using my unit for commercial use and have receipts to prove as much. To send something to my credit bureau because you refuse to do the work is just extremely unprofessional to me. When called several
