Yuck. Boiled pork ribs? At a BBQ place? Really? Two racks at $29 a peice. I would have expected a lot more than ribs cut into individual bones, then boiled, and then slathered in bbq sauce. The pics we saw online showed smoked racks of ribs — or at least fire-charred ribs. And when I asked the sever whether this was how they served their ribs — boiled a la convalescent home — her response was simply: I’m not involved in the food prep. Ok, then. Hard pass. Avoid.

Stopped by Steve's Backyard BBQ while passing by on 81 N. I had ordered the brisket sandwich with mac and cheese and potato salad. The food was delicious! Decided to stop by while returning from my trip and had picked up a 1/2 of ribs and 1/2 smoked chicken with two large orders of mac and cheese and potato salad. They had even treated my dog to a good side portion of smoked turkey and brisket pieces on the house! We will be stopping by whenever in the area, and I suggest that you do the same.

This is serious BBQ! I seek out BBQ wherever I go and consider myself to be very picky and critical of BBQ. So on my way home from my first trip to Cayuga Lake I found Steve’s Back Yard BBQ. Glad I did. My wife and I had had 2 platters with the pork, brisket and pit beef, sides of slaw, beans, cornbread and broccoli salad.
Everything was fresh, moist and flavorful. The smoke had a excellent sweet smoky flavor, nice smoke ring and ample portions. I was dizzy with joy.

The food was super good and the folks were very the barbecue is way better than my usual spots around the country when I got home we ate dinner and left some out on the table after letting the dogs try some they jumped up on the table and did acrobatic moves to get the leftovers!!
can't wait to get back and buy some more when I get back to New York!!
Also the catering menu looks planning my next party already!!
