Services
The Jefferson Pet Clinic, was founded by Dr. Duane Huwe over 40 years ago. He dedicated his professional life to veterinary medicine and provided quality, competent and compassionate care of pets throughout Morton, IL and its surrounding communities. The passing of Dr. Huwe in 2007 resulted in Dr. Michael Sanborn and his wife, Alexandra, purchasing the clinic from Dr. Huwe's children.
Heartland Veterinary Clinic provides a full range of preventative care services to help your pet live a longer, happier life and to increase the odds of detecting problems before signs appear and before they become severe and costly. I took my 12 year old lab in. He had a lump near his groin that rapidly grew overnight. His health also declined rapidly. The clinic was extremely caring to our needs. Instead of charging for unnecessary treatment. (Like a past experience with a different vet) They let him come home, and spend his last hours with family, friends, and neighbors. I appreciate all they did.

This may be OK clinic if you have a perfectly healthy pet and go there for checkups, neutering/spading, shots, etc, which we have been doing for years. But if God forbid your pet has a health issue - stay away! When my 10 year old dog's hind leg went limp one day, the vet diagnosed him with knee injury (ligament tear) pushing for surgery. I hesitated for quite some time about the surgery (or even correctness of the diagnosis) but he kept insisting that it is either surgery or suffering from severe pain and arthritis within a year. And while my dog's leg was improving slowly, he kept making me feel

Critical: Professionalism
Refused to verify a prescription with Chewy for Heartworm pills. All they needed to do was full out the form Chewy sent to them and they refused to fill it out and fax back. Definitely will never use Heartland Vet in the future and would recommend nobody else use them, as they are not willing to work with you
