Services
Dr. Platt's Lakeville roots run deep; she is a fourth generation resident on both of her parent's family trees. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. A firm believer of continuing education, Dr. Platt attends several dental courses annually.
Routine dental examinations and good oral hygiene are your best prevention of dental disease. Professional cleaning helps remove stains, plaque, and tartar from your teeth to keep your smile bright. It also helps prevent periodontal (gum) disease. A sealant is a material that is applied to the teeth where decay occurs most often-the chewing surfaces of molars (posterior teeth).
We offer composite fillings (tooth-colored resin) and amalgam fillings (combination of metals). According to the American Dental Association, dental amalgam is a durable and safe filling material. Dr. Platt will discuss your options, and together we will choose the most appropriate filling material for your mouth.
Ceramic veneers are extremely thin shells made of a strong porcelain or ceramic. When needed, the dentist removes a small amount of enamel from the front and sides of the tooth. This makes room for the veneer and prevents the restored tooth from feeling or looking bulky or unnatural. Impressions are taken and sent to a dental lab that makes the veneers to fit your individual teeth.

They are the best, hands down. My family and I moved to Texas and whenever we're in Minnesota, we make a stop to see Dr. Platt and her team. They are so good with my kids, especially the one who is deathly afraid of needles (and she still loves going to the dentist!). I recently had to get a bad cavity job that was done by a dentist in Austin, fixed by Dr. Platt - I appreciate her honesty and conservative approach to treatments; as well as her and her team's dedication to providing quality (and comfortable!) service. Almost makes me want to move back. Almost! ;)

I have been going to Platt Dentistry for 4 years and found them always helpful and they are very good about sending reminders for appointment which I really like. I also had a filling recently and within a several weeks part of it came out. I called in got in right away and after they fixed it there was no charge because she said it should have lasted longer. As a small business owner myself I understand the value of good customer service and standing behind what you do. I appreciated it and think they all do a great job.

Platt Dentistry is far and away the most pleasant dentistry experience I have enjoyed. You feel at home from the moment you walk until the time you leave. Each visit is comfortable (complimentary back massaging chairs) and the team at Platt treat you like an old friend. I will always call Platt Dentistry my home dental experience!
