Child Care Resource & Referral provides referrals only. We do not recommend or endorse any type of child care or particular child care setting. Choosing an appropriate child care setting which meets a family's needs is the responsibility of the parent or guardian. CCR&R does not regulate or monitor child care.
The referral service is FREE of charge to parents, providers and the business community. The state of Arkansas together with the Department of Health and Human Services, has allotted grant money to be able to provide this community service FREE of charge. Child Care Center means any Child Care Facility conducted under public or private ownership on a profit or nonprofit basis providing direct care and protection for children. Child Care Centers musl meel minimum licensing requirements set by the Division of Child Care licensing unit.

A Child Care Family Home is defined as a situation in which children are cared for in a caregiver's own family residence or in some other suitable family type residence.A home requires licensing when one {1} or more persons care for six (6) or more children, from more than one (1) family at the same lime.
The quality of the care is also very important. The questions below can help you choose the program that will provide the best care for your child. There are questions you could ask the program director and teachers. Other things you will want to observe as you visit the classroom. As you ask these questions, pay attention to how the staff treats you and the children in their care.
The Licensing Unit of The Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education was established by law to regulate child care facilities to help protect the health, safety and well being of children in child care. With the assistance of child-care providers and experts in areas such as child development, early childhood education, fire, health, and safety, the Licensing Unit developed minimum standards for a variety of child care facilities.
