The Colonia of Elgin is home to Arizona's first Winery, Distillery, and Brewery facility. The Elgin Winery has been producing wines from Arizona grapes since the post-prohibition resurgence in winemaking in the Sonoran desert. The Elgin Distillery was the first licensed Craft Distillery in Arizona and is the most and highest awarded distillery in the west.
The Elgin Brewery which was originally founded in 1999 has again placed its license on hiatus until a new set of legislative challenges can be fixed. We started with the Elgin and Tombstone wineries, added the Brewery and Four Monkey Winery, then the Distilleries.

Services
The Elgin Winery was founded at the rebirth of Arizona Wine in the early 80s. Bill Letarte was instrumental in the reemergence of post prohibition wine marketing and promotion, and was determined to see the fledgeling industry strive. With his commitment to Arizona wine, the Village of Elgin was set to thrive.
Originally founded to take advantage of our Four Monkey Rum label, we named each wine to match our personalities, Playful, Naughty, Cheeky, and Sinful. The number one selling Arizona wine is Tombstone Red, Bill Letarte's brain child, the Tombstone line of wines reflect traditional European styles made in the old west.
Once a month we have a Wine and Dine in our Elgin Dining Room. Join us for seven courses and wine. No refunds once purchased as we are purchasing the food in advance of the dinner. This is a catered event and advanced purchase is required for seating. You must be 21 or over in order to consume alcoholic beverages, if not, you will be provided non-alcoholic beverages.

It's unfortunate that the customer service has to suffer because of COVID. When we arrived there were two couples outside who were very unhappy with the way they were treated. We decided to give it a try because we had heard the whiskey was good. And although the whiskey was good, the lady serving it was a bit rude. We all understand the inconveniences of COVID but she exasperated the situation. There were several other parties that quickly left while we were there. Hopefully their customer service improves after the virus. For now, I would avoid this place.

These guys and gals know their stuff for sure. I believe they are one of the oldest around down here in Sonoita wine country. The addition of the distillery a few years back is awesome. We pick up wine, brandy, moonshine, and now even hand sanitizer. Great times in the gazebo here. Keep up the great work.

Have been a customer for several years now and the distillery just gets better and better if possible! Stop by and see Jim, John, or Gary. They have a selection of award winning rum, gin, and bourbon. Did I mention national and world winners? Gin has always been my favorite, and now the only gin I have is El Gin. have gotten an appreciation of bourbon and rum, all of my spirits are now from the Elgin Distillery.. A great team that loves to share the history of the spirits. be sure to stop by the wine tasting room too. You can't go wrong.

And this is how to end your day in Elgin. Go visit Jim and hear the stories and enjoy the tremendous variety of spirits. Need a great sipping rum? Done!!! How about an award winning bourbon? Yep, they got that too. And one of the best gins I've ever had. Hawkeye and Trapper would never leave. Come down to the area and taste the wine but save some time and money for the booze!!! Cheers!!

I stopped by Elgin Distillery on way through town the other day to pick up a bottle of the award winning Regalo de Vida Gran Rum and sampled the other rum offerings was not disappointed. . If had to pick a favorite, it would be the Regalo and the Double Black. There are 4 different rums. Liked the caramel and orange from the Regalo and the smoke and spice on the Double Black. Cannot go wrong with any of the rums. Suggest sampling all and picking your favorite.... John was in the tasting room and very helpful. Thank you and my liquor cabinet has a couple great adds.
