We're The Meading Room- a mother/daughter duo that realized that Sonoita, full of wineries, breweries, and distilleries, was missing one thing (well actually three): mead, cider & fruit wine. Barbara & her daughter Kylie bought the property in 2015, and slowly began the transformation from grasslands to farm.
Although the farm is and always will be a work in progress, we are now caring for tons of lavender, sunflower, prickly pear, apple, pear & peach trees, hackberry, magnolia, and plenty of native thistle- one of our absolute favorite and most misunderstood pollinators! Every single one of our products are made in house by Barbara & Kylie (our dynamic drink duo) and you can bet your bottom that it will always be made with farm fresh ingredients.

Who would think that Arizona had several wineries! An hour outside Tucson in Sonoita, Az there are several great places. During a Christmas visit to see my family, my brother drove us out to check out these wineries on a week day. We hit the Meading Room first. Unfortunately we got there later in the day and they were only open till 4pm so we didn't have a lot of time to hang out. What a great place! The Ciders and honey wine are wonderful. There was a big selection so it was fun to try a flight. The prices were good too. The outdoor area is pretty and I only wish we had gotten there earlier

First time there and this place was so perfect. They had live music, Santa Pachita, rock the place with lots of dancing! The area is surrounded by grass which give this place a warm and welcoming environment. The staff were super nice and so attentive. Plus the wine is good!. There's a food truck which is nice because you'll want to stay awhile!

This was our second time to Sonoita and we couldn't wait to get back to the Meading Room. The mead flights are so fun to try and so delicious. I love the large variety they offer. We grabbed a deck of cards from the game area, had our snacks, and drank mead for an hour. We absolutely love everything about this place. The family that owns/runs it were there, there were kids running in and out excitedly, it is such a positive place. Cheers to you all.

Delicious Mead and Cider, very friendly staff, amazing views.
If you never tried mead before this is definitely the place to go. From traditional mead to bubbly mead, cider, fruit wine and specialty drinks.
The sweeter side of beer the non-acidic side of wine. They have tasters, glasses and bottles
The views from their mead garden are beautiful. Mountains, rolling hills, a winery right next door.

My friend was visiting from out of state and I was looking for something fun to do that we hadn't already done on previous visits. While looking for some wineries, this popped up. Fun idea for something to do that wasn't too far away from Tucson! For only $10 you get to pick five different samples of their meads. The gal working explained a little about the various options, and we each created our own flights based on what sounded interesting to us. My favorite was the blueberry one, but I was surprised at how very different they each tasted. The tasting also came with a little snack

This is a wonderful local brewery that specializes in meads and ciders. They have a wide variety of them on the menu, and almost all of them are worth trying (though a couple tasted like cough syrup).
We came here for the tasting. For $10 you can choose up to 5 drinks to try, and it comes with a bag of chips too. I opted for the poppables, and my traveling partner opted for the Sunchips. Both paired surprisingly well with the drinks, as the saltiness provided a counterbalance to the sugary drinks.
Apart from that, the place is well kept. There is a small gift shop in the lobby area, where you

On Easter we went for a drive and saw this place from the road and knew it was closed due to Covid-19. Fast forward to Labor Day weekend to find that we had guest visiting us for the weekend and since we all had have mead many times before we were all excited to try this place.
What a disappointment. If you are used to mead that tends to be thicker then beer, almost to cough syrup thickness then run from this place.
You know when you are in trouble when you see carbonation with mead. What? Just nasty. I was expecting body, none was found and flavor was missing. Mead should be sipped on

These folks have got it going on! As a mead maker myself for quite a few years my wife and I were very impressed. The establishment was very modern yet welcoming and dog friendly as we brought our beagle. Barbara was our host and she did and exceptional job! She was very fluent in their mead, explaining in detail the complexity of each mead. Many thanks for her hospitality. Do yourself a HUGE favor and stop by for a flight, you will be impressed!

So cute!
This location has local honey options, jerky, and more on top of the alcohol choices.
You can grab a $5 souvenir glass that is very good quality and absolutely adorable.
I recommend the El Jefe Cider which has.. prickly pear! Wow! I'm definitely a sucker for anything prickly pear since I grew up with homemade jelly/jam and syrup.
The atmosphere is relaxed and so open. You can grab a couch cushion or chair. Play some corn hole, bocce ball, or just draw with chalk on a table.
Take the trip!

What an amazing place!! We were heading to Seniota & this place grabbed our attention so we flipped around and went to check it out. So glad we did! I have never heard of Mead and was thrilled to hear it is basically honey wine the store was clean and taking Covid precautions including clean writing utensils, masks & prestige cleanliness. The service was so friendly and she was so patient with my million questions we went with a Flight which also gets you a free snack you choose from chips and cookies. The decor and ambiance is so modern and stylish. We felt comfortable and loved the

Hmmm, mead you say? Interesting and different, and Sonoita's The Meading Room serves it up very well!!!
Located in one of Arizona's best wine regions, The Meading Room steps away from the standard fare of outstanding wines and craft beers for a delightfully refreshing beverage with lots of flavor choices. Fermented honey is key to the process, and the staff is kind and knowledgeable in its explanations of the various meads and flavors. There is basically something for everyone (well, as long as they are 21+).
And the views!!! This lovely establishment is located on a hill overlooking
