Do road signs seem blurrier-even at a short distance? When reading, do you hold the page further away to read it? Are you suffering from a minor or major loss of vision? If you answered "Yes, " to any of the questions above, you are not alone. Many people find that their vision tends to suffer more as they age.
An annual eye exam can help you achieve and maintain excellent eye health. Routine or annual wellness eye exams can detect a variety of eye concerns before they become a major issue. At William Fruchtman O.D., we are dedicated to providing patients of all ages with top-notch, comprehensive eye care.
An annual eye exam is more than just a vision screening. Eye doctors are often the first to diagnose systemic chronic diseases, such as high cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes, and glaucoma. A comprehensive eye exam by your optometrists at William Fruchtman O.D. can provide a better possibility of early diagnosis.
How Often Should I Schedule an Eye Exam? As your optometrist in New Jersey, we recommend a comprehensive eye exam every year to maintain vision and prevent vision impairment as best as possible. Depending on your age, any environmental or hereditary risk factors, and any current corrective lenses, you may need to schedule more frequent screenings.

Guy tried to get money out of me. Barely did an eye exam. He never finished my lens fitting, never called me back after he “ordered” a different trial lens, gave me an incorrect initial trial lens. Told me I had an allowance which covered up to a certain amount but forgot to mention my benefits that fully covered my lenses, never mentioned what lenses were covered by my insurance specifically. I feel like once he saw I knew my benefits and what lenses were covered under my insurance I wasn’t worth the time. I would’ve had to pay out of pocket expenses using my allowance. Know your benefits

Office is dingy, would probably benefit from a good scrubbing. Dr doused my hands with what appeared to be rubbing alcohol, which also got on my pants and shoes. Maybe they should use all that alcohol for cleaning the office. They sent me 4 texts to remind me of $50 cancellation fee but couldn't verify benefits prior to appt causing me wasted time. Would not recommend.

Another simple, completely thorough and informative, and pleasant experience at Dr Fruchtman for my (3rd) annual visit/ Check up. Thanks, Doc, for always going above and beyond in the care of my eyes. It's a safe, comfortable feeling to walk out of your office after being examined by the newest, latest and greatest machines to help provide your always perfect diagnosis and help. And, thanks, almost as much, lol, for helping to navigate the different insurances I've had. I am grateful to you and Melania. BEST!

I had to take my 10yr old for her first eye exam. Dr Fruchtman was wonderful with her and very patient with my 3yr old constantly talking. He had a great sense of humor and made my daughter very comfortable. Also, he has an amazing Rubber Tree in his office that is to die for! 10/10 would recommend.

It’s very rare for someone to say they love their optometrist but let me be the first to say, I DO! By improperly caring for my contacts, I walked myself into a eye infection in both eyes. My eyes literally felt like they were on fire and no amount of visine or cold rags were helping. With my luck, all this started after hours for every Optometrist I contacted. Dr. Fruchtmans site allowed you to request appointments online and in the comment section, I expressed how bad I was feeling and didn’t know what else to do. It was pretty late and I didn’t expect any call back until the next day.

I was in a full-out panic when I made my first visit to Dr. Fruchtman, having accidentally snapped a bungee cord into my eye (ouch!!). I found Dr. Fruchtman not only to be a top notch medical professional, (my eye has since fully recovered), but a calming and reassuring presence at an extremely stressful and frightening time. I have since visited Dr. Fruchtman, who I've come to trust completely with the health of my eyes, for regular visits. I find a visit to his office to be a pleasant experience, especially considering his always helpful and supportive office staff. Over all, I would recommend
