Opening Deer Creek Winery was a risk. We were in the middle of the Great Recession, and we started out specializing in fruit wine rather than more recognizable wine varieties. But our family had owned this land for five generations-we knew that our farm already produced the finest raspberries available, and we knew that we could grow something amazing here.
Escape to the beautiful foothills of the Allegheny National Forest when you stay at our cozy Bed and Breakfasts. Our Inn offers eight private guest rooms attached to our main winery in Shippenville, PA. Just a short walk from the winery, is our newest addition, The Manor, which features five private guest rooms.
Three salted pretzel twists brushed with our Olive Grove Tuscan Herb oil, served with a choice of beer cheese, nacho cheese, or honey mustard. I have nothing but good things to say. Free tastings, good wine for various tastes, and friendly staff. Heck, they even have a happy hour to grab a couple cheap glasses of wine. We pass the actual winery on the way to our camp in Irvine, some day we’ll actually stop in. Hoping it’s even better! No reason not to stop in if you’re in McCandless though, support a PA winery!

Probably the worst winery I have ever been to in my life. They are not environmentally friendly . They use plastic to serve their wine in. Also, the manager Emily Matelan 4123677179 is so rude and extremely unhelpful. If you aren't careful she will call the cops on you and have you arrested for no good reason. She did that to me. My name is Lisa Brown. Also, the wine is disgusting in my opinion.... Erie does not grow the best grapes for wine. I would know since I have much experience with wine due to my time living in Northern California spent at numerous wineries in Napa and other locations

I've stopped in here twice now and both times were a good experience. The first was while waiting on a table at Burgatory. If you have a bit of a wait, I highly recommend swing over to Deer Creek. On this visit I was able to taste several of their wines which were mostly sweet. They admittedly said they do not have many dry wines which I prefer but the helpful and friendly staff pointed me towards a few of their wines that might appeal to me. Enough so that I walked out with a bottle of Their Shippenville Red. While it was on the sweeter side, I really enjoyed the taste.

After my quick run to Trader Joes, I decided to visit Deer Creek Winery. The staff and customers were very pleasant upon my arrival. I was immediately invited to taste test various wines according to my style and flavor. The staff was very knowledgeable of the wines and very helpful in guiding me to the appropriate wine for me.
The wine I enjoyed the most was the Rustic Red. It has a very nice grapey flavor with some sweetness, I only wish the sweetness was turned down just a notch and it would have been perfect! It was not as full bodied as the Cabernet Franc I tried. But out of the few that

My girlfriend and I were waiting to be seated at Burgatory across the street so we decided to stop into the Deer Creek Winery to waste some time and try some samples. A woman checked our IDs then proceeded to tell me that she could not serve me due to the fact that my license didn't expire the day after my birthday even though I am 23. While confused about the whole situation I checked my ID and saw that my ID expired March 1st and my birthday is February 28th. I then told the female worker that she was wrong. She then told me she must of missed that because my holograms didn't look right

Nice bright location with a very personable staff. The staff was helpful in giving us a few ideas on how to use the Autumn Breeze (apple). If you're looking for wine accessories: wine bags, unique wine glasses, corkscrews, wine gift bags, cork holders (a variety to pick from) this is your place.
As far as the wine goes they have a nice variety of sweet, fruity wines available for purchase and tasting. I was very excited to see they had a Cabernet Franc available, since it's a hard to find wine, but after tasting I was disappointed in its very mellow flavor. (Most reds, usually have

Came here after eating stopping at another store in the plaza. It caught my eye because of the free wine tasting sign. We came in and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. They were happy to give us samples of their unique wines made locally in PA. I really liked their port wine and it went down really smooth. I bought a bottle. It was reasonably priced at $21. They have monthly specials this month was the peach wine. I liked many of their wines they were so smooth. I am usually a sweet wine type of person but even their dry wines tasted good to me. I enjoyed their rhubarb, sparkling, moscato

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of all the wines they had. They let us try anything we wanted and they have quite a few wines. I love supporting local wineries and breweries so I'll definitely be back to grab some more bottles. My favorites were the Clarion Concord, Shippenville Red and Rhubard. I never new you could turn Rhubard into wine let alone a good tasting wine! They were all on the sweeter side but not overpowering. I actually went with the Clarion Concord. It tasted like grape juice!
The lady working also gave me a good tip for fall/ holiday drink. If you like mulled
