They combined their purchasing power and started the Credit Union with thirty-seven (37) shares at a par value of $5.00 per share totaling $185.00. The Credit Union was managed by Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), and was operated exclusively for its members. In the summer of 2006, TEFCU became its own viable entity with the separation from its parent company WMATA.
After you apply for a loan and it has been processed, you will receive an email from a Member Services Representative via DocuSign. In the body of the email, there will be a blue box with a yellow link labeled "Review Document". Select "Review Document" in order for the validation process to begin.

All checks ordered will have a check reorder identification number printed on the reorder slip. Simply use the ID number to reorder checks. Ready to reorder your checks? If you have any problems or this is your first check order, you will need to speak to a Member Services Representative at (301) 289-9800, opt. 1.
Remote Deposit Anywhere (RDA) is a service that allows you to deposit a check into one of your TEFCU accounts from your Android, iPhone, or iPad device. Take a picture of your checks and make deposits from anywhere at any time without having to visit a Branch. Sign into TEFCU Mobile with your Online Banking credentials.

This banking institution sucks… They’ll let random people take money out of your account, let withdrawals from random people of checks withdrawals and never give you the information. And don’t let you be paying child support and be in good standings, they will not approve you for a loan. I had a loan there for 4 years on my truck and as soon as I got on child support they denied me financing on a new car . I literally hate this bank.

I've been waiting on a replacement card since 11/1/2021 I still haven't received everytime I call to check status it put me in queue for 10-12 minutes then after holding I have to leave a message for call back please avoid banking here !!!!!!!!!!

This is the worst credit union I've ever came across....They give you no time to put money in your account if you overdrawn it can be for $1.97 they will quickly add $35...The manager don't have a clue....I closed my accounts so fast...Think twice before you use this bank...they help you with nothing...omg don't try and dispute anything on your account you will not get your money back they don't work for you

The worst credit union on this planet. You can't reach the branch, the third party that they use for the call center is worthless, and the overall quality of service has a cheap feel. I've had my direct deposit going here since I started working, and just haven't moved it over to my other credit unions because of the hassle. That ends now.

If I could give this bank 0 stars I would. The worse bank out there my husband savings account has been on hold for a year now and no one at the bank knows anything also he was deployed to Cuba and he was issued another card but to speed up his funds he decided to do a transfer to his BOA account that was Friday morning it is now Thursday. All anyone keeps telling him is that someone will call him back in a hour and after 2 full days no call backs. This bank is incompetent and does not know what they’re doing. He will no longer use this bank!

A year later I comeback to just get a new card. There is only one person working and they have been with the customer the entire time. Another person is at a desk sleep and al I need is. New card which take 5 min, another person came in with food went straight to the back and yet I've been here for 30 minutes and still no help.
They are always over drawing my account when I didnt overdraw it. They're app is never updated with recent transactions and never displays real time account balances. When you call in to inquire about your account they will not honor any request even when they are in the

I love this bank. I have only had 1 issue in years and it was corrected swiftly. They work with you and have great programs. My only caveat was when they changed the phone system. That needs to change back so that when you call you speak to someone that is actually at the bank.

We have all got to get together to put this poorly managed credit union out of business or something Please! I have never had a good experience with this financial institution ever and there has to be something we the people can do to put a stop to this train wreck seriously! I have never done a review before but after dealing with this bank for the last 13yrs I honestly don’t have one good thing to say about this bank !

Terrible customer service. I discovered credit card fraud Saturday night so I called the credit union and the number on the credit card right away. I could not get through to anyone. I called numerous times on Monday and could not get through to anyone. I had to drive 40 minutes to the credit union.
Received new card in mail but could no longer access account on line. Tried calling numerous times again with no success.
I’m in the process of closing account and switching to another banking institution.

The worst banking institution ever!! You can never speak directly to an agent when you call. Staff aren’t friendly or helpful. I hate this credit union so much do not open an account with them! I’d give them negative stars if I could.

Horrible!!!!! I've been on hold for an hour over the span of 3 calls and still haven't spoke to anyone! I was given a pw for online banking that didn't work so I called and can't get through! Bad way of doing business when handling people's finances

After all the trouble we stopped using them as a bank. The only thing we still had was a car loan.- 5 weeks ago we traded the car in at Darcars. They sent a check to TEFCU within a week of the trade in. TEFCU hasn't closed the loan, is calling us claiming we are behind. We had Darcars call them with the check number and date it was sent. That had no impact. They still have the loan open even though they have received the check to pay it off. They are still having people call and say we are behind on the payments. Our next step is going to be to hire a lawyer to get the loan closed. Seriously

I've been a member well over 15 years and not have they ever been able to help me for any loans. I had to go to PenFed CU to get the loans that I needed. TEFCU is the worst banking institution I ever associated with.

If I could give negative stars this CU would surely get it. First and last experience. This CU is the worst I have ever came across. The customer service is awful. I expect slow service from an establishment that is excessively crowded but for it to be completely empty this is outrageous. **WARNING** Avoid banking with them. Unless you like the hassle or rude and slow customer service this is the place to be for you.

This is my Credit Union has been before they changed the name but customer service has got to improve it is horrible..You wait 40 - 60 minutes half the time. When the lobby ain't even crowded. People walking around taking their time looking like they don't want to be bothered.

Love their products and customer service! TEFCU has become my primary banking institution and is always there for me. The staff is so personable and always willing to assist with my needs. I have been able to finance my car and home mortgage with TEFCU.

This financial institution is not for the little people. It takes and never gives back. I have been a loyal member for over 7 years never defaulted or overdrawn. I asked for a loan payment to be moved to the next drawn date and was denied. Basically my loyalty and good standing doesn't account for anything. As of today I will no longer do business with TEFCU. I am going with Navy Federal.

If I could give this business zero stars, I would.
I wouldn't bank here if it were the last financial institution on the face of the earth.
Their employees are abrasive, their policies Neanderthal, and their concern/value for clientele is non-measurable.

A close friend of mine has been banking here for over two decades. He acquired and paid off several loans without missing a single payment.
His pay check is direct deposited to his account.

Recently, he was contacted by the bank asking for the title to his vehicle because they had given him a loan on it nearly six years ago and just now
