Gainesville Jewelry was started in 1977 by Phil Forrester, with just a 600 square foot jewelry store with one counter. He borrowed $8500 from his dad and went into the jewelry business cold turkey. After 43 years, he now has a 7000 square ft free-standing jewelry store. Over the years, he has built a highly successful business with his original goals given to him by his father.

Our mission, which was given to Phil by his father is to treat every person that walks through our front door like family, to provide the best quality available, and to always be truthful to our friends and neighbors. We decided early on in our business not to work in a commission system because Phil found in many cases jewelry sales associates attempted to sale the most expensive piece to the customer in order to make a larger commission.

THE 4Cs the 4Cs of Diamond Quality is the universal method for assessing the quality of any diamond. Diamond color actually means a lack of color. A chemically pure and structurally perfect diamond has no hue, like a drop of pure water, and consequently, a higher value.

GIA's D-to-Z diamond color-grading system measures the degree of colorlessness by comparing a stone under controlled lighting and precise viewing conditions to masterstones or stones of established color value.GIA's diamond D-to-Z color-grading scale is the industry's most widely accepted grading system.
Purple variety of the mineral quartz, often forms large, six-sided crystals. The birthstone for February, the name of the gem comes from a Greek word that means "not drunk." Ametrine, one of the rarest types of transparent quartz, combines two colors: amethyst's purple and citrine's orange-to-yellow.

We've gotten a mens ring here which was amazing and great quality. Even better they have a master craftsman that can make custom pieces. Julio helped make a one of a kind piece for us with the help of Carol. Definitely our favorite place to stop in. Everyone is super helpful, kind and patient.

I recently stopped in at Gainesville Jewelry. Wow, was I so pleasantly surprised. My husband and I chatted with a lovely woman I believe her name was Betty. We need a few little repairs and some watch batteries. Frequently these little repairs are brushed off as no big deal and many large jewelers are just not interested and want to sell you high ticket dollar items. Not at this jewelry store, not even a sales pitch. Just a warm smile a nice conversation and great customer service. I had actually brought my watch to another jeweler in town and because it had screws in the back he did not want to

Excellence all around! Three years back the owner personally resolved an issue and exceeded my expectations. Today I came to get a quote on setting 5 diamonds into 5 settings... Another popular jewelry store in town wanted $175 EACH and Gainesville Jewelry only charged $50 each. Best jewelry store in town.
