Here in Vermont for a relaxing few days. Decided to have dinner here. They seated us in the back, but the tree was beautiful so that made it okay. I ordered the pork tenderloin and my potatoes were burned. They gladly replaced them. My veggies were a little burnt also but was able to eat them. The food was tasty. Wasn't able to have desert because I can't eat ice cream and they didn't have any whipped cream. We would come again. Oh we were never asked if we wanted more bread? To the chef, soak your tenderloin in some meat tenderizer for about 30 minutes, it works. Happy New Year's.

We stayed at the Narrows house and our room was very comfortable. Was surprised the restaurant wasn't open but they sent us to Dorcet Inn which was fine.

Came here for a stay. Nice place but what a waste. Twelve fires burning on a 65 degree evening. Ambiance of nice but wasting our health, freedom, and future, and that is wrong.
Had dinner at the restaurant and could not eat the greasy burger, hardly touched it and they did nothing to rectify their customer satisfaction. This is a nice place by view, but by management it is an awful place to give your business to, unless you just don’t care.

Great place to stay and the resturant and food are excellent. We had our daughter's wedding at the Old Gray Barn also part of the Barrow's House and it was exceptional. Most of our guests stay on the Barrows/Dorset Inn properties and it worked out great. Colleen and Kaitlyn did a fantastic job working with my daughter and her husband coordinating the event. Totally recomend this venue.

This review is for the Inn - we had a somewhat strange experience during our check out, we walked down the street to breakfast at 8 o’clock, upon return around 9 there were two cleaners in our room saying we had checked out, they had loud music playing and were not apologetic at all. My girlfriend and I were not comfortable they were in our room early on account of Covid and also I was storing an expensive piece of jewellery in my bag and they were in there before we had checked out. Luckily I had moved it before breakfast. The hotel workers were not friendly at all and pretty much evicted us

Went to visit to see it is would be a good place to host an upcoming wedding. Horrible service. I know it is Covid, but someone could have returned calls. No one met us to show us the Barn. Food was horrible.

Beautiful place to go for dinner with kids. The yard has these great games for kids to play while adults are enjoying a cocktail and relaxing. Food is great too.

I had dinner with my son at the Barrows House Inn and it was his first visit to the restaurant. He lives in Rochester New York and enjoys more diverse dining opportunities than our home state of Vermont offers. The meal and drinks were wonderful as was the service. I'd described it as great food in a relaxed and beautiful setting. We sat outside and the ambience was relaxing and comfortable. Even the live entertainment fit the setting. On our drive home my sons only complaint was that I had taken him there sooner!

I joined yelp to write this review. The cottages they advertise are actually air bnb's and you're barely treated as a hotel guest. The shower water was red/brown with rust and management acted inconvenienced to call maintenance. A complimentary breakfast was offered in the itinerary, but not honored at the restaurant. I was told that no one had ever reserved the cottages online before and that was the reason for the mix up. Managers Colleen and Caitlin were incredibly rude upon following up and the bar/waitstaff also subpar. I'd leave zero stars if possible.

What a wonderful place. The staff is amazing, the food and drinks were excellent and the patio for dinner service and grounds were gorgeous! They had gluten-free options and were very knowledgeable about it! I can't wait to go again, everything was perfect:-)

We stayed here over New Year's Eve and day and were very pleased, for our second visit together, with our comfortable accommodations. I've stayed here even with former owners and was always happy with the experience.
We had a clean, spacious upstairs unit in Blue Jay Way. Very comfortable king sized bed and nice adjoining living room. There was a gas fireplace, 2 tvs, and a mini-frig, microwave & coffee maker. It was quiet and there was LOTS of hot water for our tub, 3 things I am quick to judge on. Number 3 is that there IS a tub, not just a shower.
Staff was friendly and accommodating

I stayed here back in May (2015) for a wedding nearby. I was in the single room cottage known as "Wren's Nest" which is located just next to the main house/bar building and central to the parking lot. I did not notice any noise from the nearby lot or building - and the room itself was fabulous. My boyfriend and I absolutely DOVE into the luxurious bedding! The staff was extremely helpful with every visit we made to the desk (and we made a lot!) They also have a sister restaurant down the street (like 2 min walk) that you can eat breakfast at - all of which was delicious! I

I visited Barrows House for a long weekend in late January with my mom and sister and was impressed from the moment we pulled up. We choose the Inn because of its close proximity to Bromley and Stratton, and we were not disappointed. The place is beautiful, especially in the snow. Our room was large and spacious, and we took full advantage of the sitting room (with cookies, tea, and coffee!) and fireplace on the first floor.

The Inn notified us when we made our reservation that there would be a wedding on Saturday night and that the majority of the guests there that weekend were with that party

We were here this August and absolutely loved it. We stayed at Barrows several years ago and were, frankly, a little nervous when we found out about the change in ownership. But the new team has done an excellent job holding on to the character of what always made Barrows House so special, while making some lovely improvements.

We stayed in 2 different accommodations - each very different. The first was in Blue Jay Way. We had the top floor, 2 bedrooms and a connecting living room. The rooms were enormous, with super comfortable beds and living spaces. The bathrooms were brand new as well. The

Was in town for 4 nights at a friends wedding. I was completely satisfied with accommodations and friendliness of the staff. Beds were really comfortable. Not the cheapest place in town but I'm a huge proponent of the saying "you get what you pay for." Room was cozy...ya I shared a common area/living room with 3-4 other rooms but that didn't bother me it added to the vibe of the hotel in my opinion. Same goes for hearing people walking above you if your on ground floor or people next to you. I'd recommend it to any of my friends.

This was so beautiful! It's different that the other places that the owners own-- The Dorset Inn and The Mountain Top Inn. It has it's old historical charm with newer amenities and a beautiful restaurant with backlit marble!!! The food was the best food my husband and I ever had. He had the salmon and truffle oil popcorn. I had the lump crab cake and scallops. We had breakfast twice which was also delightful! The bed was comfortable. We stayed at Blue Jay Way. We had other family that rented a couple of other rooms in that house so it was fun to have the common area. There are

It must have been lovely in days gone by. The Barrows House is part of my family history. On the outside it looks as it always has. Inside---well, it's seen better days. I realize it take a bit to run an Inn, but the quality of the lodgings was motel-like. The staff are all wonderful, but have been stretched beyond their areas of strength. The menu sounded wonderful, but seemed to be reheated, not fresh (except dessert). The owner has some ridiculous stories about the Inn- including that there have never been keys to guest rooms. This is not only incorrect, it's obvious that there
