Inspired by their discovery of Long Island's North Fork, brothers William Sr., Herb and Herman Lieblein decided to purchase a fishing station on Southold Bay. The brothers launched Port of Egypt in 1946, believing that others would want to experience the idyllic location and fishing paradise. They were right.
It wasn't long before POE was bustling with eager fishermen who would get in the boat rental line long before the sun bobbed up onto the horizon. This conglomeration of customers was described as a "United Nations" because of the camaraderie between such an eclectic mix of cultures and races and the diversity of languages wielding fish tales.

Love the staff and love the marina but do not like the strong arm they are doing to individuals who dock their boats there for the summer. This year (2021) regardless of whether you trailer your boat to your home for winter storage or leave at POE they are charging for winter service and storage. How disappointing. Seems like they are trying to get rid of middle class and keep only the wealthy.

I have been boating my whole life and have had many types of boats. When i wanted another center console my brother told me about Port of Egypt and have since bought 2 new boats and sold them 2.. All transactions went perfect.. Bill the owner and his family make you feel welcomed...Mike the sales manager makes you feel like he is your friend and helps on so many ways.. I am planning on buying another and guess where i am going..Port of Egypt..I wish more businesses treated you the way they do there..Bill D

When I found myself interested in a Grady White boat in 2013, my friend (who was a manager of a completive brand of boat) recommended I go to Port of Egypt to buy a GW. To do so (55 miles) I passed 3 other GW dealers closer to my home but I'm glad I did. This has lead me to buying 3 boats over the years from POE and recommending many fellow friends and family to POE for sales, service and replacement parts.

1st off let me start by saying I wouldn't give them even one star But that's the only way I can post. Last year on October 25th I brought my boat to port of Egypt to be shrink wrapped for the Winter. I dropped it off in the morning and picked it up in the evening. The boat sat all Winter in my driveway in southold . Memorial Day weekend 2019 my family and I came out For the holiday. Saturday morning I proceeded to take the wrapper off my boat. Port of Egypt use this material they called static tapeWhich was placed over my very expensive graphics to protect it . I had a issue with transferring a Volvo diesel engine warranty and the staff took the time and diligence to help me get the transfer of warranty done . They put the time in with dealing with Volvo Corp to insure I had my Warranty transferred and in place . Felt they showed they cared enough to help me with a confusing situation . Would recommend them and they surely earned my future business
