Quick turnaround trip to Mammoth, needed conveniently located lodging and originally reserved at the Village Resort which is across the road. After further review of the locale and further review of the reviews, decided to switch to the Alpenhof. No regrets! First floor king room in the original lodge. Clean, comfortable and easily accessible for our purposes. The restaurant was closed for rehab, but many other walkable choices. Of particular note was Martha at the front desk. She was very hospitable and ingratiating during our stay and would be a primary reason to consider staying there again

Cleanliness: 4/5
Service: 5/5
Comfort: 2/5
Noise: 4/5
Overall: A relatively clean hotel but no AC in a very small room.
The extended review...
Cleanliness: 4/5 - The linens and towels were clean.
Service: 5/5 - Martha was super friendly and helpful. I called for an early check in and she was very helpful in accommodating.
Comfort: 2/5 - The beds were comfortable. One issue was that the room and bathroom were a bit tight. And the most important part was there was no air conditioning...it wasn’t listed on the amenities but in this day and age I would expect I would need to check...guess

I choose this hotel because all pictures were so light and bright and I love when it’s bright in the room, and I love windows! So I got the most dark room without normal window and table, but I have a zoom classes every day, so I hoped I would get a table, no luck . It’s room on third floor.
And a blockage in the sink is very annoying. You star and finish your day from the bathroom and great is it when your mood is always terrible after bathroom.
The water does not leave the sink because there is a blockage in the sink, the riser is leaking. We were given coffee, but there is no coffee machine

This is very nice "old school" hotel. The owners are first generation european as the name would imply. Although the buildings are dated, the facilities have all been updated. Very comfortable and clean. The staff are all very nice and accommodating. If you want to be near the Village it's the best value.
