My family and I are just finishing up our stay here at Gull Lake Lodge. We absolutely loved it! We spent our first week at the Westin in Mammoth then came here to escape the Christmas crowds. The rooms are super clean and nice. The staff is very very friendly and not intrusive. We had a full kitchen with everything we needed to cook meals. I suggest grocery shopping before you arrive. There is a small grocery and a few restaurants up the road. June Mountain ski area is about a 3 minute drive up the road. We loved it and felt super safe.
Thank You!

Due to road closure on the 395, my family and I could not get to the motel that night from Bishop. We informed the owner and they insisted we keep checking until the point we could not find a place to stay the night at Bishop and were stranded. Doug (owner) calls me and says that there is no issue with us not coming that night since their guest that are currently in our booked room could not leave also and that we would not be responsible to pay for that night since they would charge the current guests. But, they would cancel the reservation on Expedia so they don't pay Expedia the commission

The unit we, a party of 4, stayed for 2 nights was well cleaned and maintained ok overall with some utensils, dishes and pots. No complaint about it. Howerver, it had a wall gas heater installed and when we turned it on, it made a series of clanging, clicking, banging, ticking and all sorts of weird metal sound all night long as it was heated up and cooled down all night long. Terrible two night sleeps. Our snow boarding trip was just a tired and exhausted one beause of the distubed sleeps.

The worst hotel experience I’ve had!! The hotel is not attractive at all, it’s ugly and depressed, just the room is ok, but old. Also, be aware that the hotel say they are dog friendly, but you cannot leave the dog in the room, and almost none restaurant around were dog friendly. Conclusion, I payed but we ended up changing hotel, and was so much better than staying at Gull lake lodge

Love this place. As a full kitchen. Refrigerator with ice trays. Wall heaters . I remember these as a kid . Love it. Little wall heater in the bathroom. Reminds me of my grandmas house. Plenty of room. Could have fit 4 people in here. Front desk Chris very nice. Would definitely recommend. Down town 5 minute walk.

Spare yourself the possibility of grief and pick a different place to stay. After years of coming to this place we had an event cancellation and needed to change the dates of our reservation. The manager would not help us at all, she was completely dismissive and rude. Truly this hotel staff has no concept of customer appreciation and care as they refused to refund our deposit or allow us to apply it to a different weekend. We were saddened and angered at been treated with such disregard after so many stays at this establishment.
Enjoy your travels and we hope you never go through this sort

Having stayed at gull lodge several times in the past because it was next to the park where my event happens, my event was canceled. With 29 days notice Peggy refused to refund deposit or roll it over to next year. A few days later she offers me the room for a discounted price which I thought was a peace offering for a very bad decision on her part . Two days later the offer was rescinded. Really Peggy!!! On top of all this, the rooms are outdated and have a smell to them. I will never stay here again and urge others to do the same. I don't want to be treated this way

I was told before hand I could complete the payment after my entire stay and was told otherwise when I showed up. The staff was not nice at all. And to top it off my last night I was moved to a different room and I had to carry my luggage with me at the lake. Overall worst hotel experience of my life. Both shower heads were really rusty and had horrible water pressure. Got really bad bug bites in the room aswell. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

Awful experience with surprise fake "cleaning charges". Last year this place was amazing. The staff was friendly, helpful, and very personable. My family was so excited to come back and have a great family vacation with our extended family all staying in about 5 different rooms on this property for the second time. This year we were very disappointed to be greeted by impersonal, rude, and uncommunicative staff. Then after we leave we were charged a $336 "cleaning fee" which the owner communicated was not for cleaning our room, which we did clean (dishes washed, as the sign stated

Great place to stay!
We (family of 4) stayed here over the weekend, Friday - Sunday. It's close to the lifts, about a 3 minute drive.
The place was spacious for us. The full kitchen was great and I was able to make our family's breakfast and dinner with no problems. Coffee was provided along with sugar and creamer for each day we were there. It was a packet of Foldgers that you just make in your coffee pot. I would recommend bringing your own creamer if you can. They use the small creamers that sometimes get old if they're not used soon enough.

I've been a guest at Gull Lake Lodge for 30 years and always had a great time and was always treated like family.
Recently we reserved several rooms for a year in advance for a group of friends for a fishing get-together.
The reservations were all set...and suddenly we all get cancellation notices because the owner claimed, without any proof, we were going to commandere his parking lot and invite everyone within the Eastern Sierra to take over his hotel.
There might be some bi-polar or Dimentia issues going on here.
But...i won't stay here again...as much as I love it...until there&apos

Pet Owners Beware!! Its a scam! Despite the hotel claiming to be pet friendly they are exactly the opposite. The owners are running a scam to charge people $500 if you walk out of your room without your dog. Apparently they have cameras up and the owners watch them all day. As soon as you walk out without your dog they send their rude apartment manager to your place to bang on the door and back window in order to see if your dog will bark. Then she locks the deadbolt and they charge your cc $500. You lose access to your belongings and animals until you go beg them to let you back in. Please

I have been staying at this place for over a decade so I know what it's been like. It used to have a charming 'mom and pop' vibe. That's changed.
Unfortunately, the new manager, Rose, is ruining that. She is not only rude, she's frankly unprofessional, not at all focused on customer service & dangerous. She actually entered my room while the 'do not disturb' sign was on the door and a teenager was asleep in the bedroom. She did not have permission to do so and this violates basic ethics and likely even the law (entering a hotel room where an adolescent is

Very disappointing this trip! Have been going here same weekend for 8 years. Never had a problem till now, they did not send or say they went from $140 up to $200 a night till we got there. So with talking with them about it they would not budge and did not care if we stayed, so we went elsewhere and it was lovely at the Double Eagle. We did up with a great Mothers Day
So don't even bother with Gull Lake Lodge until the owners get their crap together and care about their customers
I would give them a zero instead of a one if i could

I booked 2 nights in March and when I arrived, the roads to June Mountain were closed because of a storm. The sheriff was turning cars around. Very long story short, I scrambled late at night to find a last minute place in Mammoth as everything was just about sold out. I called Gull Lake Lodge the next day, explained what happened and was promised a refund as they understood I wasn't able to make it due to weather. It took 4 calls and speaking with 3 different people before I was finally told (4 weeks later) that I would no longer be receiving a refund (they did take one night off) but the
