This weekend home is nestled into a hillside overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Everywhere you go here, each room is very connected to the outdoors. To play off the indoor-outdoor feel that pervades the home, interior designer Virginia Stamey utilized nature inspired colors. As with all of the selections Virginia has made for the house, they are of the highest quality.
The clients chose a grand, hundred year old home in the Columbia City neighborhood of Seattle, overlooking Lake Washington, to raise their family. The home was extensively remodeled, maintaining the architectural elements, yet bringing in some contemporary elements to meet the clients' artistic sensitivities.
Virginia Stamey, of Virginia Stamey Interior Design, is a graduate of the University of Washington, School of Art, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design. Since graduating in 1979, she has worked as an interior designer both commercially and residentially. Her professional career began as a designer for Westin Hotels.
