I had some water damage in my kitchen from a small 15 year leak. I needed to replace the affected cabinet parts, sheetrock, flooring, and subflooring. Because the counter top was formica and would be damaged during removal, the contractor told me I should plan to replace it.
I hired Calista Munnell from Calista Interiors to help me quickly make smart and attractive choices for the counter top and flooring.
Initially I wanted to go with a marble called Rain Forest Green. Calista talked me out of it. She explained marble is too soft for the wear and tear experienced by most kitchen counter
