Sonshine Corner Learning Center has been family owned and operated for 18 years. We are conveniently located in downtown Kent City and offer childcare programs for infants thru age 12. SCLC provides a loving Christian environment that allows children to learn and achieve at their own pace. Our staff is committed to helping your child with social, emotional, physical, intellectual, creative and spiritual development.

Services
Our infant/toddler program focuses on the needs of each individual child. Our staff works closely with parents to develop and maintain an individualized routine for each child. Young infants set their own schedule for eating and sleeping. Staff will work with parents to increase time between feedings as the infant get older.
Our preschool program is designed to be a school readiness program. We use themes to hold their interest. Often the themes are chosen by what this particular group of children is interested in. We teach Bible stories and songs. Children are also taught to follow a three-step direction. We teach self-help skills such as zipping their coat, putting on their shoes and washing their hands.

I couldn't ask for anyone better to care for my child! Feels like I'm leaving my kid with family. Every staff member is very patient and loving towards the children. They have also taught my son so much within 6 months!

We decided to take our 4 year old daughter here because of the reviews and feel from staff before we enrolled that it wasn’t just another daycare only about packing in kids for money. After 5 days there I had picked her up once and she was so thirsty her lips were sticking together. Picked her up today and she had an accident and no one even cared. They literally had to put her coat on and walk her up stairs when we picked her up and never noticed or said anything to us. The staff seemed very awkward and rude ( the blonde girl is very rude) the short amount of time you dealt with them during

My daughter has been going to this daycare since she was two, maybe even longer. She is now six years old and loves going to Sonshine. They have always been accommodating to our schedule changes and needs. It is reasonably priced, and the kids don’t ever just sit around, they’re always doing something and learning. In the summertime they go on walks and play at the parks, which my daughter really loves. Last year we moved out of the district, but decided to keep our daughter In Kent city so she could still attend Sonshine and Kent City Schools. There’s always room for improvement anywhere

I have been bringing my kids here since the oldest was a toddler "about 4 years". They have always been very helpful and watchful of my boys. Any issues I had were always handled/ corrected as needed per discussions with staff "communication is key". They got to learn during the preschool program and make friends and were always excited to tell me of their day. I know on a daily basis my boys will be watched and loved just as if they were family to a lot of the employees. I would definitely suggest this daycare to anybody looking.

His wife made me aware of a few concerns they had after their daughter had attended for 5 days. I answered her questions honestly. We enjoyed having Skylar in our care. She's a sweet girl.

Family owned and operated for 20+ years! My children (3 of them) are all cared for as if they were their own. My kids are not a number at SonShine. The staff gets to know the kids, their likes and dislikes. The most professional Child Care Center I’ve seen. The owner works with all family situations: illness, parent separation etc. I would not take my children to any other place.

Child Care seems to be okay but do not go here if you have a split family. Even attorneys can't seem to get information out of their staff about payment information, daycare rates, or attendance records most of the time. You will spend more money on attorney fees attempting to get information then you will on daycare. Use at your own risk. **update** after posting this I did receive the information we needed. The communication delay was discussed and the center is cooperating. They made sure to stress they were attempting to follow what they had been told and are trying to be an unbias middle ground
