Traveling by bike is the perfect way to truly experience the diverse neighborhoods of the city. On a bike tour, you will feel as though you are really part of the neighborhood. Walking tours & bus tours are certainly a nice way to see the city but bikes offer the best of both worlds (and more!). When compared to a day as pedestrian in New York, our leisurely paced rides are effortless and cover much more ground.
And, you are able to interact with your surroundings much more than when on a bus. We take you beyond the usual tourist spots that bus and walking tours usually miss. We feel certain you will leave with stories and photos that even the "natives" do not know about. We are not a bike rental shop that also does bike tours or a walking/bus tour company that also does bike tours.

Services
Bike the Big Apple-New York's premiere bike tour company-has taken residents and visitors alike on thousands of tours of the five boroughs. We were founded by Joel Seidenstein, a native New Yorker and public high school teacher who commuted by bike year round and loved sharing his vast knowledge of the city.
Bike the Big Apple gift certificates make an absolutely wonderful present for anyone living in - or visiting - New York City! They can be purchased for any amount (the most common being multiples of $90, $95 and $99). Gift certificates are returnable/refundable within 60 days of the purchase. Gift certificates are otherwise not refundable unless the tour is cancelled by us due to weather or other unforeseen circumstance.
No, we do it all the time! On the other hand, if you do not know where you are going, you may very well end up riding in rush-hour traffic in midtown or downtown Manhattan (which can be not-so-nice). We know the streets and neighborhoods of our city. We avoid those with heavy traffic. There is a guide in front, and one in back of the group, constantly looking out for your safety.
