Our daughter is now a recommended black belt in tae kwon do. After 5 great years at Star Martial Arts Elkhart, our referral stands strong. Masters Mr. & Mrs. Birky have been instrumental; positively accepting our feedback and offering flexibility all while improving an already well-run school. We've never had a bad instructor at the Elkhart location and the current instructors are all top notch with shout outs to: Mr. Cooper, Ms. E. Gallegos, Ms. C. Gallegos, Mr. Hawkins, and Mr. Hartman. All are invested in the personal growth of each student and reflect Star Martial Art's values

I am thoroughly impressed with the people at Star. They provide a safe, positive place for children and adults to achieve their full potential. The physical benefit is only a part of what students get here. The instructors foster growth in many areas of the students' lives. Not only do they engage the kids and adult students with great energy, they also involve parents in the lessons. My child and I are both getting a benefit from the instructors on a daily basis.
Their schedule is flexible, making it easy for busy households to fit class time in their schedules.

I came here as a single woman with no children, simply looking for some self defence to make me feel a bit safer at my job. What I found was so much more. This is more than a school, this is a community. The people here invest in each other's lives, and they'll invest in you too if you give them the chance. Yes, there are promotions, it is a business, but none of it is mandatory and you don't need the fancy stuff to get a real benifite out of it. I've seen countless lives transformed. Please come see it yourself!

Star Martial Arts has been an incredible blessing to my family. We first joined Star because I felt that my daughter was defiant and severely lacking in self-discipline and I wanted to see her participate in an activity that would challenge her to set and achieve goals. I have known Mr. Birky since he was about 14 years old. He is a model example of the competent leadership abilities learned in his school. His abilities to reach each student individually and bring out their inner strength still blows my mind. I began training with ATA in 1998. (Too chicken to sign up on my own, I sent my kids in first! lol) I remained for ten years. Three of my sons earned their black belts and moved on. I stayed to teach and continue my own training. As a martial artist, I have visited and trained at many martial arts locations around the country. I can honestly say that Star Martial Arts is one of the finest martial arts schools that I've been to. Last year I spent a week with Mr. & Mrs. Birky to train with them and their staff in preparation for the ATA World Championships. In that week, I was immersed in all their classes, instructor meetings, and daily lives. I was able to grasp the essence of what Star Martial Arts really is.

My children started at Star Martial Arts a few months ago. I can not speak highly enough of the staff. They are professional, friendly, helpful and very nice! The student helpers are also very impressive young men and women.
We started the six month program to try out Martial Arts. As soon as our six month program ends we are going to commit to the Black Belt Club. Their teaching skills are so exceptional it makes me want to tell everyone to give it a try.
