The Port of Newport is constructing the Marine Operations Center-Pacific for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Newport. The new facility, which includes a wharf within Yaquina Bay, will unite the NOAA's Pacific fleet and its lab facilities. The facility provides six berths to accommodate the current NOAA home fleet of four ships, plus two guest ships.
