Inspired Psychology
Welcome, I'm Dr. Laura-Beth Fitzpatrick, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, and owner of Inspired Psychology in San Diego, California. At my online practice, I provide compassionate depth-oriented therapy for individuals seeking to develop greater self-awareness and healing. Online therapy enables us to safely connect right from the comfort of your home via my secure HIPAA compliant video conferencing software.

As a provider, I have a warm, collaborative therapeutic approach. I enjoy creating a space for authentic connection, in the safety of a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, understood, and cared for. I honor the courage it takes to be present in the therapy space, to look within, comfort difficult feelings, and heal from past wounds and I feel privileged to join you in this work.
Services
I have been studying psychology since 2005, received my Bachelors of Science in Clinical Psychology in 2009. I worked within a private psychology practice and psychiatric hospital prior to enrolling in my Doctorate program in Psychology in 2014.

During my doctoral training, I engaged in diverse year-long clinical training at Sharp Mesa Vista Psychiatric Hospital (Adult CBT Intensive Outpatient Program), The Winston School of Del Mar (4th-12th grade students), The University of San Diego Counseling Center, and The Center for Applied Psychological Services (CAPS), a non-profit psychodynamically oriented outpatient clinic in San Diego, California.
I provide therapy for individuals across the lifespan and specialize in working with Millennials and Gen Z. My ideal clients are motivated for treatment, open to understanding and exploring their emotions, and curious about the underpinnings of the self. In order for therapy to be most valuable, my clients are ready to commit to weekly individual therapy, with frequency re-evaluated based on treatment goals.
EMDR or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a specialized form of therapy that helps individuals recover from trauma or other distressing life events. EMDR helps the brain move through unprocessed traumatic memories and allowing the brain to continue its natural healing process. We still retain these memories but without the same emotional charge caused by the fight, flight, or freeze response from the original event.
There's no doubt in anyone's mind that the adolescent years can be a difficult transition for teens and their support system. Individual therapy can provide adolescents with a safe place to process their thoughts, feelings, and to explore issues which can weigh heavily like academic stress, navigating social and romantic relationships, and preparing for a successful transition into adulthood.
Prior to the pandemic, I first began to offer telehealth services as a way to increase access to care for our clients who otherwise wouldn't be able to make it into the office. Living within a rural community or being a busy professional should not be a limiting factor in being able to access the best care.

Dr. Fitzpatrick was my colleague during our pre-doctoral internship at the non-profit organization, I Ola Lāhui, Inc., and over time she has become one of my closest friends. As her colleague, I witnessed Dr. Fitzpatrick engage directly with clients as we provided family co-therapy. She was warm, compassionate, and a strong advocate for her clients. Dr. Fitzpatrick was determined to provide great care and effective in helping her clients achieve their goals. As a friend, Dr. Fitzpatrick has been empathetic and encouraging, and goes above and beyond to help when needed. I greatly appreciate her
