Since 2006, our studio in Knoxville, TN has given budding and experienced dancers the comprehensive dance education they need to succeed in the studio and achieve their dreams. Whether your child wants to master dance for fun, train competitively, or pursue a professional dance career, our programs offer top-notch training across all genres.

Dancers of all levels are welcome to learn, grow, and improve your technique from the BDC staff. Intensives are open to ALL dancers regardless of studio affiliation and/or intentions to audition. Dancers wishing to be considered for our Releve' Elite Company, BDC Babies or Pre Company are required to attend at least one technique intensive.

Backstage Dance Company is excited to be running 4 different Acro skills clinics this summer! Come out and develop your acro skills! Give your little Princess the chance to feel like a Queen! Each day your dancers imagination will run wild as they journey through the enchanted forest and make their way to the Queens Castle.

This studio goes above and beyond in EVERYTHING they do. The quality of instruction is unbeatable. I’ve been to my fair share of dance recitals and most are so boring. You are literally asleep in your chair until your child comes on stage. But their recitals are so entertaining! It’s like being at a Broadway show. And most importantly they will treat your child like gold.

My daughter has been attending BDC for 7 years (since 2009) and has received exceptional instruction. They have taught her poise, confidence and a love for dance. In reference to the negative review, there are extra fees at every studio you go to. Yes, there is a charge to receive a ticket to the recitals & programs and even for the costume to perform in. The recital tickets range in price from $8 to $12, not $20 like stated. These instructors take time to teach our children & you get out what you put in. I recommend Backstage Dance Company.

Both of our daughters have taken classes here. This studio is better organized than others in the area, which is a big plus. Being able to watch the kids on a monitor during class is also nice. Minus 1-star because of the never-ending focus on recitals, but that seems to be the story at all these dance studios.

They try to nickel and dime you for every little thing; they charge extra for a "program" at their dance recital. The same recital you pay $20 a ticket to see at some crappy old high-school, and spend $80 more on a cheap costume that falls apart before they get on stage. They don't care about teaching your kid to dance, just want to make as much money off you as possible. There's much better studios in the area, look elsewhere.
