We Desire to instill the love of dance in students of all ages through excellence in technical training, professional curriculum, and positive teaching practices. The ORAD is an all-inclusive dance studio which has programs for every age group and level. The Academy teaches students of all ages the art and discipline of dance encompassing the delicate balance of enjoyment and discipline.
The Oak Ridge Academy of Dance was founded in 1975 under the direction of Tish Hartman and Ruth Scheitlin with staff members, Pam Reedy, Sandra Mayfield, Toni Ferguson and Linda Cross.

Services
All Faculty members are former dancers at the Academy and have been involved in the Academy since a very young age. We are entirely committed to the development, advancement and training of our students, regardless of the age. Our instructors have a strong background in the original technique of each dance subject and continually train so all students benefit from professional programs.
The Oak Ridge Academy of Dance welcomes new students of all ages. Whether your needs are for individual fitness in dance or if you are interested in gaining dance expertise, the ORAD has the program for you. From the pre-school age to adults in their 70s, the Academy offers a wide variety of genres in which to choose from.
ORDTTA Baskeball- Our ORDTTA Basketball group will perform at local basketball games starting in fall 2021. Athletes must be going into the 5th grade and up to be eligible. CDE Non Travel Competition Teams- Our CDE Non Travel Competition Teams will compete in the spring of 2022 at local studio competitions.
How do I Register? Registration is taken over the phone, online, and at the Academy during office hours of operation. Does Acceptance into the ORAD require a signed contract for the entire year? Yes. There is an individual payment plan as specified through the office, which is signed by the person responsible for fees.

I went here over 30 years ago for quite a few years. Quite cathartic walking in and seeing the same instructors when I went and now my little girl is dancing here, in the same room that I started ballet in. Love her sweet teachers and how happy she is when she is finished with her class. Not to mention I looked around at prices for different places in around the Knox area, and ORAD is the most reasonable. All around happy with this company and services.

Our daughter has attended ORAD since she was 3. (so this will be her 6th year) and we love it! Not only do they teach top of the line choreography and technique but they teach a self-discipline she will use in all aspects of life. We appreciate the hard working staff for ALL they do for our children!
