For our daughter's sweet 16 celebration we had a sleep over at the Garden City Hotel. What a top notch experience! We had an excellent dinner at the Red Salt Room (separate review) then moved the party to the room. BEAUTIFUL rooms, clean. Very comfortable beds which is so important. Whatever needs we had and called downstairs for, the response was immediate. The entire staff from bellmen to Gary who manages and oversees EVERYTHING so professionally and well were EXCELLENT. Everyone was so courteous, accommodating and professional. Everything and then some that I would expect the Garden City

We stayed here for a family trip with a 2.5 year old during the Thanksgiving holiday. While the rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly, that's about the main thing the hotel has going for it. The walls are thin, you can hear your neighbors very easily talking, or using the bath/shower, sink or toilet. This place just underwent a big renovation - you would think soundproofing would have been a part of that reno.

Further, there was apparently a wedding both Friday and Saturday night we were staying here. The lamps in the room shook and the music doesn't stop until very

My boyfriend and I had a staycation over at The Garden City Hotel, the staff was very friendly; they really went above and beyond to make our weekend very delightful. They have amazing outlets for dinning and drinks (reasonably priced) . We also enjoyed the indoor pool opened all year round.

It’s a gimmick. They take you down to a loading dock where there is a small bar that makes sugary drinks and blasts music. Don’t waste your time.

If your staying on Long Island this is the place to be. Sure, it costs more but it is worth every penny. I have nothing but great things to say about the facility and more importantly the customer service

Update:
Yesterday I was contacted by Gary the business manager. He left me a voice message that I would be receiving my full refund because I had cancelled well in advance, and apologized for the way I was handled on the phone.
Thank you very much Gary.

We will try to schedule a stay at a better time.

Room was must feeling and the light is terrible. Feels very dark. Despite saying that it is a non-smoking property, the hallway outside of my room smells of cigarettes. Overall not a pleasant experience dealing with the staff. Apparently they only clean rooms every 3 days, which was not mentioned to me upon check-in which is due to COVID. Instead of apologizing first thing and explain the misunderstanding the manager at the desk informed me that "he told me when he checked me in," but I know for a fact that he didn't. I wouldn't have been as annoyed as I am, however, it was

There is no way in which this is a 4 star hotel. It meets none of the criteria. My partner and I booked this hotel for our wedding night because it boosts a bunch of great amenities and was supposed to be a luxury hotel but the experience from the moment we pulled up was one disappointment after the next.

We get there and there were literally NO amenities. No one even offered to help us with our luggage. Upon checking in we find out there is no pool. There was a Kuerig in the hallway when you get out of the elevator which we thought was strange. But getting to the room we found that's because

UPDATE AFTER HOTEL RESPONSE: No, when I spoke to the front desk PRIOR TO booking, I was told early check in should not be a problem but to call in the day of just to be sure to let them know. The day of, when I called in, we were already nearby. The front desk did NOT say check in would most probably be at 4. Not even close to that. The front desk, at no point said or implied or suggested our room may not be ready for early check in. They consistently (bw the 2) made it seem like it would be ANY MINUTE NOW. Comfortable??? You think it's "comfortable" to have to wait in a lobby w

Excellent place for a wedding reception!

We came here recently for a wedding reception that was rescheduled due to COVID and Garden City Hotel went above and beyond for the happy couple. The room we had was just the right amount of size we needed for both eating and dancing for our group. The food at the cocktail hour was yummy and the manager even brought us our own plate of pigs in blankets.

The bartenders were great, wait staff was great, everyone took great care of us. It was nice to feel normal as we come out the other side from this pandemic. Our reception area also had a lovely patio

The place was very nice but the servers were constantly racing to clear your drinks and food. I actually didn't get to eat my dinner I took 2 bites and got up for a minute to dance , literally once dance when I got back My full dinner was gone, it was unreal you couldn't even finish your drink if it was half way done it was gone! I would not book an event here . It was like they knew the wedding would end at 10pm so they they wanted to be cleaned up by 9:59pm . Not cool. The food at cocktail hour was delicious but can't speak for my dinner since it was taken away before I could eat

If only they spent half as much money on updating their outdated, musty, old rooms as they do on their flower beds and their hammer head security. The Garden city hotel is antiquated, I wait for the day it closes. All your employees outside of the maid staff are all miserable and put on an act because the place is run with an iron fist. I got red marks all over my body after staying there. The salt room (great name), it's what the food is covered in, salt, this Chef Burke run restaurant within the hotel is also hemorrhaging money and is a total waste of putting into your body. Lastly,

Came here for a holiday breakfast with my boss. It was a very classy environment nicely decorated for the holidays. The menue pricing was surprisingly affordable I was kind of expecting outlandish prices but it was appropriately priced. I was disappointed that they didn't have any non pork meat options besides salmon (although I like salmon). I had the croissant sandwich with partakes. The partakes were sautéed with onions and they were well seasoned. My colleague had eggs Benedict and we shared the French toast. The French toast was light and tasty with a blueberry composte on it.

PROS:
The hotel is at a convenient location right across from the Garden City LIRR station. Beautiful outer bar area (fireplace at night!) and spacious parking lots.

The lobby was well maintained with very friendly receptionists. Social distancing is well practiced in this hotel. Hand sanitizers located all throughout the building.

Bed was very soft and comfortable.

The complementary earl grey tea from the Keurig machine is exceptional, must try it!

CONS:
The lighting could be brighter in the room as it was very dim. Bathroom was really clean and stocked. Noticed a few small stains on the throw

Arrived at The Garden City Hotel on Thursday, which I now like to call The Garden *hitty hotel. I checked out early due to all the allergies I was having because of the dust.

Breakfast was an experience, ordered an Açaí bowl and received yogurt with granola? I recommend taking some time to google what an açaí bowl is.

So how can a place so awful be a part of such a beautiful city? As soon as I entered the room and saw the ant crawling on my sheets I should have turned and run.

The room was outdated and dirty. The decorative pillow on my bed had white stains all over it...and it was touching

I have lots of love for the Garden City Hotel.

Truth be told, we got married here 22 years ago so we also have a lot of nostalgia for this hotel.

The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated. We didn't have the greatest room; the window was very high with a view of a second roof. We were also on the ballroom floor so there were weddings going on with lots of florists and photographers milling about.

The spa is lovely and clean. The therapist was great and the waiting area was very welcoming.

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is beautiful. There is no other words for it. The ambiance is great. The amenities are great. And coming from Houston, I especially enjoyed the abundance of fireplaces. Unfortunately, my love for this hotel end there.

I arrived Sunday morning for an all day business meeting on Monday. I requested an early check in which they happily accommodated within a few hours. It was an easy walk a few blocks to go enjoy lunch so it was no big deal. I was put into room 201 and enjoyed a quick nap before heading to dinner with colleagues. Around 5:30, we all met in the bar downstairs for drinks

One of my favorite places to stay...and dine in NYC area. This grand old hotel takes you to another era, transporting you to a time with white picket fences, train stations, good manners and service. Sooo nice!

We usually get a room with a balcony, the views are stunning of treetops and church steeples. Sigh. Rooms are traditional and well-appointed.

They have great food here and the highlight is the Sunday brunch, book ahead or it fills up. This is a major spread, with ons of seafood, carved meats, desserts, salads, you name it...the brunch is beyond description honestly.
