We are dedicated to providing mental health services to children and adolescents in Chicago schools, to training graduate students in clinical practice, and to providing consultation and support to working professionals in the mental health field. Our training and consultation are based on the Client-Centered Approach, developed by Carl Rogers and furthered by many others, both here and abroad.

Services
The mission of The Schools Group is to help improve the academic and social performance of children and adolescents in Chicago-area schools by providing in-school clinical counseling services to this underserved population at no cost to the schools.
Many students in this economically and ethnically diverse population face serious challenges-difficult or abusive situations at home, anxiety, depression, bereavement, trauma, substance abuse (their own or their parents'), academic failure, and social problems.With limited resources, it is impossible for schools to provide individual, on-going psychotherapy services that their students may need.

The Schools Group offers clinical training to master's level students in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Forensic Psychology, Sports and Health Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychology, and Community Counseling. We focus on clinical practice-developing the capacity to provide effective counseling to a variety of clients.
The Schools Group provides clinical supervision to license eligible practitioners working in any setting, but with particular expertise in working with counselors who serve children and adolescents in a school setting. School Counselors - If you have a master's degree and are a working as a school counselor, you can apply those hours toward your LCPC if you have weekly, individual supervision from a qualified supervisor.
