Naomi Ruth Cohen Institute
A mental health awareness institute focused on reducing the stigma of mental illness by providing resources and support to those in need. Whether working in an office, doing a job remotely, or managing employees, the pandemic is still taking a toll on U.S. workers. U.S. workers are showing signs of burnout, a desire for mental health and wellness support and are at risk for more serious conditions like depression.

Whether someone has recently been diagnosed or has been living with mental illness for most of their life, the experience can be very isolating for individuals, family members, and other loved ones. No one should suffer in silence. No one ought to feel alone. We offer mental health education, training, and presentations to the greater Chicagoland community to increase understanding of mental health issues and decrease stigma.
Services
In 2002, the Naomi Ruth Cohen Charitable Foundation was created with a dual purpose: to honor Naomi's memory and play a leading role in decreasing the stigma of mental illness. In 2008, the foundation joined the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and became The Naomi Ruth Cohen Institute for Mental Health Education (NRCI).
The mission of the Naomi Ruth Cohen Institute for Mental Health Education is to reduce the stigma of mental illness that has been a barrier for individuals, families, and communities receiving much-needed support. The institute aims to provide resources and hope to those that struggle with mental illness, and to those who support them.
Since its inception, the success of the Naomi Ruth Cohen Institute for Mental Health Education has been built upon people like you coming together to change the conversation about mental health, creating more inclusive communities that rally to provide support to individuals and families struggling with a broad range of mental health issues.
There are many ways to describe Naomi - a loving daughter, caring sister, relative, and a cherished friend to many. She was a gifted artist and designer, as well as a skilled geriatrics counselor; who engaged with her community. Naomi was a compassionate and spiritual person, who cared deeply about disadvantaged people and the humane treatment of animals.
