Dr. Leakey graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. He spent 6 years working as an associate at a busy practice just east of Dallas, where he grew up. He started out as a kennel technician at the practice in Dallas, at the age of 18, and worked his way up and was there every summer through college!
With our new Airvet-app, you'll be able to connect with your veterinarian virtually via live video, audio, and chat. We use Airvet to do virtual re-check exams, post-ops, call-backs, and to provide you access to a veterinarian when you need immediate help after hours. We will provide your pet with all the comforts of home!
Pet care should extend beyond the walls of our office and be accessible to you and your pets no matter where you are or when you need help. With veterinarians close by, you will have the added benefit of knowing that if your animal experiences any illness while you're away, it will be promptly and competently addressed with a complimentary exam by a Veterinarian. Also, each day, along with the care from our trained staff, your pet will be checked in on by a Veterinarian!
Hate to leave your furry companion at home while you are gone all day? Bring them for a play day with our fun staff and to socialize with other dogs! We have large grassy fenced in play yards designated for large and small breed dogs. The yards have fun toys and mini pools to splash around in! Playmates are hand selected by our Kennel Techs and each play group is closely monitored.

During the summer my little dog Rocky got over heated or got into some kind of poison. We will never know which because when I rushed my limp animal to HIS regular Dr. Canyon Vet...I was told they didn't do emergency. My dog was laying on the floor having a bowel movement and all the lady at the front could say very rudely is that they don't take walknsi or emergency. My grandson is crying ...im crying but nothing but a cold stare. I had been there several times but NOT AGAIN. Luckily my dog started to get better after i Googled what to do at the front desk of the Doctor. Go to Startzville ...much

I have been using Canyon Vet for my Pekingese for over 5 years and for grooming for the last 3+ years. Every employee has always been so professional and respectful of my time. My little fur baby is not upset to go to the groomer, like she has been at others. During the pandemic they have done the best that they can to keep everyone safe, while still taking care of our needs. Don’t hesitate to give them a try.
