Established in 1981, we provide a wide range of services for large and small animals. We appreciate your business and strive to provide you and your animals quality care and service. Otherwise, please come in 15 minutes prior to your pets appointment so we can get your information. Also, it would help if you have your pets medical records faxed ("Contact" tab) or brought to us so we can better get to know your pets history.
We brought our dog here after she became very ill very fast, the staff was very amazing they got her in fast and they were very compassionate. Blanco Veterinary Clinic is proud to serve Blanco, TX and surrounding areas. We are dedicated to providing the highest level of veterinary medicine along with friendly, compassionate service. We believe in treating every patient as if they were our own pet, and giving them the same loving attention and care.
Dr. Behrends received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M in 1979. He was an associate veterinarian in Angleton, TX before returning to the hill country, where he was born and raised (Stonewall & Fredericksburg). The practice was established in 1981, and he has been an active practitioner in mixed animal medicine in Blanco since.
We provide a wide array of small animal services including but not limited to: routine wellness exams, vaccinations, micro-chipping, internal medicine, in house laboratory diagnostics, digital x-ray, ultrasonography, various surgical procedures, and dentistry. Our surgical capabilities range from routine spays/neuters to various orthopedic and soft tissue procedures utilizing up to date anesthetics.

Blanco vet clinic is honestly the best vet I have ever been too. My family took both our dogs here and I have been taking my cat here for years. They truly care about the animals. I drive over an hour so that my cat can be seen here. They are upfront and honest with quotes. They don’t up charge like many other big city vets. The level of care is amazing. My cat scout needed emergency care and even though they didn’t have any regular or emergency appointments available they still took him and made sure he was okay while still staying within my budget. Truly the best! I recommend them to everyone

Dr. Richard was very good with my Golden Retreiver. The entire office staff and friendly and attentive both on the phone and in person. I am never surprised with the bill- they are upfront and will discuss cost options.
I am not the best pet mommies, but my digs are a part of my large family. They respect that and have not shamed me that I am not always able to spend money the way some do.
Missy saved my bulldog! This place and the people will forever be in my debt.

Dr. Christina Berhands is AMAZING. She is the best of both worlds. Since she grew up watching her father practice veterinary medicine, she knows the "older" tried and true treatments that work better than some of the newfangled ideas. On the other hand, she also knows all of the new and improved treatments. She is an extremely intelligent and friendly vet. I would happily recommend her to anyone. In addition, the techs are kind and knowledgeable. Last, but not least, those that work at the front desk are very kind and understanding.
