Services
In the summer of 2001, Dennis Keck and some close friends were sitting around hanging out at a local bar and debating who could make the Best Snoots. Later that year they competed in their first competition and won 1st place for their Snoots, with all proceeds donated to the Red Cross for 9/11 victims.

Today the Missouri Valley Region Model A Ford club toured from St. Louis to Eckert’s in Belleville to pick apples. Afterwards we drove our six antique cars to Smokin K’s. We were greeted by Dennis who set our group of 13 people. Our waitress was Reena. Fantastic service and the best BBQ ever. I’ve been there a few times before and brought our group for lunch. Everyone complimented me a choose such a great place.

So, I know I've been here before and LOVED it. I remember one of the best Bloody Mary's I've ever had from here. I don't remember the food so much. Maybe we shared a big nachos plate? Anyway, stopped in here recently and was sorely disappointed. First off, their website lists breakfast, but they don't do breakfast, and haven't for quite some time. Next, I ordered a Garlic Bologna Sandwich, and after a while, was told that they were out of the Bologna. Maybe they're makin' enough off of the gambling machines that the restaurant comes second? Not sure

Two stars for the food, but I've had waaay better BBQ. It's no wonder their trophies are from 2010/2011.
Food aside, this place is in Millstadt so my hopes aren't high when it comes to service. I ordered 2 dinners for pick up and had no issues picking it up (aside from the obvious side eyes I get from people who have obviously never seen a mixed race person up close). The woman giving my order forgot the soda (and I'm not the one who ordered it, I was sent for pick up) so I drove all the way back home before my wife said it was missing. She calls and asks about it and was met

Not tryna be a Karen here but lemme tell ya what happened when I took my grandma to dinner. This is her first time out since covid for dinner. When we walked in I seen more than one employee not wearing a mask… which instantly terrified my grandmother. So we get seated. -she didn’t get the salad orders right (at all) like neither of them were close to being right. -walked away rudely when she knew something was wrong. -never put a mask on lol - brought our food out after an hour of being there -the brisket was so so soooo salty - never came back and asked us how our food was after

Stopped in for a cod plate. It came with 3 small pieces of fish, fries and a dab of slaw and a Pepsi. Honestly, the food was hot and fresh, but bill came in at $16. I tipped the waitress only because she was nice. I should have checked the price prior to ordering, but come on! Eventually, I spent 20 bucks for a cod fish plate. I just think it's way over reasonable pricing. If you're thinking don't go back, don't worry, I already came to that conclusion.

Mediocre BBQ... St Louis is a competitive area for BBQ and Smokin K's lacks. They have great potential but I feel they are comfortable in the ditches would like to see them become hungrier in the St Louis BBQ game.
I ordered the Pork steak with 2 sides of mac and cheese because I do what I want. Pork steak was good not amazing but good. Mac and cheese was very poor I would rather have a box of Kraft mac and cheese. It was very watery and topped with shredded cheese. Sides are everything to me especially mac and cheese. Hopefully will see improvements in the near future.

I had to seriously downgrade Smokin K's BBQ today. I had the half rack of ribs (dry rub) for lunch today and they were not very good. Although the ribs were seasoned with a rub they had absolutely no smoky flavor to them at all. I don't know if they forgot to put enough wood chips in the smoker or what. I just know they were significantly worse than what I've had there before. I mentioned this to the very nice server and she said they would let the owner know.
Wife also noted the secret recipe for their BBQ beans when she saw them throw a couple of cans of Bush's BBQ Beans
