Whether you've just moved into an existing house or have had yours for decades, you likely have several things that you'd like to change in order to make it perfectly fit your current lifestyle. However, if you don't have an excellent plan and the skills to go with it, you'll be limited in what you can do.
If you've looked at Hamptons home builders, you have likely found that many of them don't actually do custom work. Instead, they offer a few sets of options, and call that "custom" since you chose things like floor colors and countertop materials. If you have a specific design idea in mind, you know that this isn't really custom.
Typically, I'll find two types of home remodelers near me: general contractors and handymen. Both claim to be capable of completing remodeling projects, but as you might expect, a general contractor will charge more. What really sets them apart? One of the first things that sets them apart is the size and complexity of the project that needs to be done.
Even if you know you need a pro to draw up detailed, architectural-style plans, you may not be able to decide on just who should come up with the main design idea. Some will tell you that it's easy to make up your own interior design, while others will swear by hiring a designer. The reality is that the answer depends on two main things: Your eye for design and your desire to be the one who devises it.
In some areas, it is common for people to claim that the only point of building permits is to make the local municipalities money. While some types of permits may fit this description in certain locales, they are actually the exceptions. The actual point of permitting is to ensure safety in new builds, renovations, additions, and certain repairs.

Nick did a fantastic job with the contracting work - he is passionate about his work and incredibly talented with all types of contracting (cabinets, backsplash, painting and more). I had a full bathroom and powder room done. I am very happy with the work that was done. The bathrooms a stunning and I am very satisfied with the finished product. Nick who installed both bathrooms was incredible. He was extremely personable and professional. Having to elderly forgetful people, it is a concern when ever there are outsiders in the house. He made them very comfortable and they loved him, as did we all. I would definitely use and recommend Agate & Co. Builders! Definitely a great company to work with. We will definitely use them for any future projects!

I hired Agate & Co. builders to remodel a few rooms in my recently purchased home. One word- INCREDIBLE. They were truly great every step of the way. From the first meeting where we explained our ideas and visions, to the finished product. It’s more than I ever thought possible in my home. The craftsmanship and care that went into the remodel isn’t something I thought could be done by someone in this generation. Plus, with the owners father working along side him, it brought in a nice old school family atmosphere with decades of experience and talent. They will be hired again when we’re ready
