Plum Builders
At Plum Builders Inc. we have a signature Design-Build process. As a result, we exceed our buyers' expectations. All design is done in-house at Plum Builders Inc. which is a stark difference between our company and many other home builders. Al works directly with the staff designers when designing each Modern Barn.

Al and Mary Giaquinto's home builders legacy goes back to 1982, when they founded the Plum Builders Inc. home building company in The Hamptons. The idea for The Modern Barn was conceived in 2006, when home builders and architects Al Giaquinto and David Sherwood designed a great room in a large home in East Hampton, known as The Frenso Reserve, completed in 2010.
Services
The Modern Barn is a place for people to escape the hustle and the cramped spaces of the city and come together in a functional, beautifully designed luxury home inspired by natural light, expansive space, and the outdoors. The Modern Barn homes have traditional exteriors that blend in with the communities in which they are built.
The Modern Barn is the art of living in reaction to the evolution of the modern lifestyle. As technology has entered the family our connection to nature and space has evolved. We have created a home which is designed with much more glass than the average house. It allows natural sun light to come through, effecting and recharging our moods.
We are located just in the heart of Water Mill, New York. We are situated by acres of farmland and some of the world's best ocean beaches. Water Mill is the only hamlet on the east end which has a functional watermill and windmill. Rich in history, we are surrounded by the typical, shingle-style traditional saltbox homes of the earlier decades.
