Society For Pediatric Dermatology
The Society for Pediatric Dermatology (SPD) is the only national organization in the United States specifically dedicated to the field of Pediatric Dermatology. The Society's objective is to promote, develop, and advance education, research, and care of skin disease in all pediatric age groups.

The organization holds meetings twice a year to educate physicians about advances in pediatric dermatology, help them support children with dermatological diseases, and improve their care.This report features the single largest data set of compensation and production information for pediatric dermatologists in the history of the specialty and provides important benchmarks for current and future physicians.
Services
The Society for Pediatric Dermatology was established in 1975 and currently has over 1,200 members worldwide. It is the only national organization in the U.S. specifically dedicated to the field of Pediatric Dermatology.

The mission of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology is to advance the specialty through education and research, to develop new means of treatment, and to provide advocacy in support of pediatric patients with skin, hair and nail disorders.
Having a professional affiliation with SPD ensures you stay up-to-date on the latest developments in pediatric dermatology. Subscription (6 issues per year) to Pediatric Dermatology, SPD's official journal, which features the latest cutting-edge research in the field. Members receive both a print and online journal subscription.
Any physician who has completed requirements for either the American Board of Dermatology and/or the American Board of Pediatrics or their equivalent determined by the Membership Committee who has evidenced an interest in pediatric skin and its diseases shall be eligible to be an active member. A non-dermatologist or non-pediatrician with M.D., D.O or Ph.
The SPD Foundation works to foster and enhance SPD's education, research and training programs as well as fund new development and opportunities in these areas. It promotes a mechanism by which individual members can give back to the Society and support the next generation of pediatric dermatologists.
Our mission is to build a community for pediatric dermatologists who deliver consultative services through education, research, and organizational support. The SIG implemented an investigator group to research knowledge gaps in areas like proper biopsy technique in extremely premature neonates, evaluation and care of patients with severe drug eruptions, and early identification of disseminated infection in the immunocompromised child.
