Services
Elite Dance Studio was founded in May of 2006 to provide quality dance instruction and excellent customer service to the families in the Cloverly area. We are proud to have taught over 2000 students since its opening. Our students come from Montgomery, Howard, Frederick, and Prince George's counties.
Located in the beautiful Cloverly Towne Center (next to Safeway), our facility offers the latest dance studio features around. We have three dance studios in the center - studio A, B & C. Studios are equipped with professional Marley floors, which are laid over a sprung wood floor that gives protection to our dancers' bodies.
Miss Melissa has a bachelor of arts in political science with a minor in dance from Mercyhurst College located in Erie, PA. Upon graduating, Melissa returned to New York and began teaching dance full-time. Melissa began teaching at Elite in the fall of 2009 and soon became a manager of the studio and the competition teams.
We offer ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, acro and hip hop for beginners through advanced students, ages 2-18. We encourage all students to take ballet as proper technique is necessary in all dance forms. Most of our classes are designed for a two to three year course. The first year is spent being introduced to the steps and the second/third year is spent mastering them (focusing on proper technique, alignment, and performance aspects).
In order to be registered, you must complete the online registration, and pay the registration fee ($30 for first dancer and $10 for each additional family member) and the first tuition installment. Call the studio for placement questions. Registration will be finalized by management once placement is confirmed.

I am 13 and I have been dancing for 11 years and 9 of those years were spent at elite. this year is my second year on the competition team and turning into a competitive dancer has been the best decision I've ever made. my favorite part about elite is there community. pre covid-19 I would stay at the studio with my friends and eat dinner. I still do this now but in a safe corona-friendly way. I am very close with all my teachers and I have privates with one of them every week. these private lessons allow me to excel in stuff I'm good at and work on stuff I'm struggling with. pointe class is hard

Perfectly mediocre. Our interactions with teachers and management was consistently worthwhile and enjoyable. However, any and all communication or interaction with the owner was difficult, confusing, nasally and incredibly condescending. This was ultimately the deciding factor in leaving the studio after 2 years of trying to look past the patronizing interactions. I wanted my daughter to attend a school where she would be appreciated as an athlete, and not as a guaranteed monthly payment. Unfortunately, towards the end it started to feel like a visit to The Cheesecake Factory -- a great place to

I took my doughter to the first lessons of ballet/Tap combo. And I went to do my monthly payment, and when I got details receipt I found out that there was some late fee and other fees and get surprised. When I asked what is this late fee, they explained me that you did it online and we had to charged it. After that I understood that they making money for some fees and pressing the parents to buy some dancing dresses from them. I would like to mention that the dance teachers are not professional at all. And at once I disappointed from that place and I will recommend everybody not to go to that

My daughter is now six years old and she spent two years at Elite in the combo classes (ballet/tap). She wants to continue ballet, but we won't be doing it with Elite. As a parent it was made clear time and time again that I am just a check or a credit card to the management. The lobbies and pick up/ drop off are extremely crowded with parents and horrible temperature control. You have zero opportunity to view what your child is learning and you get no individual feedback on your child. There are a token camera and tv where parents can supposedly see what's going on in the dance studio. My experience
