Dental emergencies happen. Thankfully, the team at Little Koala Pediatric Dentistry is ready to help your child when a crisis strikes. Our dedicated and compassionate team cares for children from Union City, CA, and the surrounding communities of Fremont, Newark (the Tri-City area), Hayward, Castro Valley, and San Lorenzo.

From cleanings and exams to special needs dentistry, fluoride treatments, silver diamine fluoride (SDF) treatment, and tooth-colored crowns on baby teeth, we care for your child's every dental need under one roof! To help our patients have the most pleasant experience, we offer sedation dentistry using nitrous oxide (laughing gas), in-office IV sedation, and general anesthesia.
Services
Our practice has been caring for children since 1978. In 1982, Dr. Leland Grant joined the team and has been providing decades of caring, quality dental care to infants, children, teens, and children with special health care needs. In fact, he now sees the children of his first patients!

Dr. Jocelyn Lee and Dr. Amy Chen recently joined Dr. Grant, and, with their genuine love for children, they hope to continue the legacy that was started almost 40 years ago.Little Koala Pediatric Dentistry is in the Alvarado Professional Center, located at 4138 Dyer Street, Suite #4 in Union City, CA.
We will work with you directly to figure out a game plan for you and your child and we'll get them into the office as soon as possible. The first 30 minutes after an accident are the most critical to treating dental trauma. You may briefly rinse the tooth with saline or milk, but DO NOT clean or handle the tooth unnecessarily.
Dr. Lee, Dr. Amy, and Dr. Grant believe a trip to the dentist should be fun, lighthearted, and not something to fear. The way your child is exposed to dentistry lays the groundwork for how they view dental care and dental visits for the rest of their lives.

Dr. Lee, Dr. Amy, and Dr. Grant and their team loves caring for patients, and we work hard to make sure each child is spoken to gently, treated with respect, and cared for as if they were our own child. We use simple words to explain procedures to our patients and make sure each parent or guardian is aware of the process as well.
Following the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Lee, Dr. Amy, and Dr. Grant suggest infants should come in for their first oral exam between the ages of six months to 1 year old. Dr. Lee, Dr. Amy, and Dr. Grant will review proper diet, age-appropriate hygiene, and go over pacifier use to make sure your child's oral health starts strong and stays strong.
Preventative care is one of the simplest and most important ways to make sure your child's teeth grow in strong and healthy. Giving them the proper tools and teaching them the right way to brush when they are young lays the groundwork that will create healthy habits they will carry with them into adulthood.
