John Perkins and Perk Solar Team were amazing. We purchased panels and a Tesla Battery Pack installed and we couldn't be more pleased.
I was referred to Perk Solar and was tickled pink, with the price, professionalism and service. We obtained several quotes and they were the most competitive. In the 13th hour, Jim Austin went above and beyond with the final installation of the Battery Pack, commissioning it within hours of SDG&E shutting off our power for the second time in 2 weeks.

I could not be happier with his honesty, attention to detail, speed of installation, cleanliness of his crew, and impeccable customer service! I am very demanding on service and John absolutely exceeded all of my expectations, anticipating my needs ahead of time and setting me up for success by wiring a 220v car charger for my electric vehicle, which will charge my car lightning fast! The panels look great flush against my roof and he even ensured I got the panels installed before the end of the year to get the maximum tax credit

Perk Solar designed and installed our system 2.5 yrs ago and it's preformed flawlessly. We had plans to be out of town for several weeks, so needed it installed within two weeks or it would have to wait a couple of months. John took the challenge and had permits, install, inspections and SDG&E approval to turn it on before we left. He said it was a pretty easy job, but not so to some of the other companies we received bids from (because it was not being installed on our house). We have had our Perk Solar installed solar system up and running for 1.5 years. John Perkins did an excellent job answering my multitude of questions, had the job installed in the time promised, sent only GREAT workers to our home. The workers did a very NEAT and professional job. From the planning, to the permits with the county and SDG&E, the Perk Solar team were great to work with and did a great job for us. We have LG panels with micro inverters on the Enlighten system, so we can monitor that it is operating. We have been 100% satisfied with the quality install and quality products used. Thanks

My experience with Perk was stellar from start to finish. Of the 6 estimates I had done Mr. Perkins was by far the most prepared, thorough and knowledgeable.
Installation was on time and as promised.

So less than a year after John walked me through a problem over the phone for free, my old solar inverter died. John came over and inspected it, called the factory (unit out of warranty), and we decided repairs would be too expensive and have an insufficient warranty. We decided on a new higher capacity inverter with cell phone monitoring, at a reasonable installed price, which will give me capacity for future additional solar panels expansion. Thank you again John.

John Perkins was a great expert to talk to about my solar needs. He gave me absolutely NO pressure, but I knew after meeting him that I would pick his company to get my solar installed. I started the contract in Dec. 2015, but it was not installed until June 2016. We made it just under the wire to get net metering. The City of Imperial Beach and SDG&E were the main hang ups. I had a couple of extra tasks with the projects like installing a new electrical panel which I wanted flush to the wall and the old box removed. When all was done, I was very happy. I can't recommend due to reliability. This should be one of your most important considerations.
Each of the two times I met with john, he was late. When I agreed to go with him, he said several times he would bring a contract by, but never showed and didn't answer calls.
I don't think anyone wants this when it comes to a major expenditure. All in all, it worked out fine because I came across someone far more reliable and FAR cheaper after this fell through.

John Perkins installed our solar on our home in 2014. I felt that John gave me the most competitive bid but also he was the most comfortable person that I had talked to about solar installation. I had interviewed about 5 solar companies and he was the most solid and turned out to be the most reliable business person of the group. His installation was on time and his crew was very personal and curtious.

Great customer service. John really understands what needs to be done to get the best results with a system. He even got an existing system (not installed by Perk) to communicate so I could monitor what it was doing and better understand how my entire production and usage relate. I have already recommended him to a friend who needed his solar system upgraded. Outstanding!

Like most everyone else here, I did massive due diligence before I selected a company to install solar panels on the house we bought a few months ago. I got 9 different quotes from 7 different companies (a couple of the companies gave me alternative proposals). I had a few requirements that made our system particularly challenging. First, since we had only lived in our house for about a month, we didn't have much history to use in sizing the system. Second, I needed to get the system installed and green-lighted by SDG&E before the end of the year so I could get the tax credit in 2015.

We researched for months the purchase of our solar panels. I would give Perk Solar more than 5 stars if I could! John went above and beyond the call of duty and helped us out of a tight bind. We contacted John about replacing our 40-year-old electrical panel as part of a remodel and, based on our contractor's recommendation and the fact that Perk had so many great reviews, we signed up with John At Perk Solar to replace the panel.
