Johnson Solar was founded by Navy Veteran, Naval Aviator, and retired helicopter pilot, Clinton Johnson. With over 20 years of service, Clinton is dedicated his second career and business efforts toward helping customers in San Diego County and surrounding areas get solar installed faster and more affordable than most competitors.
Clinton grew up in rural Minnesota on a Farm, which he developed a strong work ethic and can do know how. His father was in construction management and he worked many trades in high school and after graduation. He Joined the military to serve his country and give back to our nation.

We will call you to have quick follow-up conversation to determine what additional information we need to help determine what type and size of solar installation you should be targeting.

Johnson Solar contracts with the best roofers in the San Diego area to make sure that your roof is ready for solar. Your solar panels are going to last for a long time. Johnson solar did a solar upgrade on my system and not only did a fantastic job, they added high quality high wattage panels and I cannot recommend Clinton or his company enough. They fit me into their busy schedule at the end of the year, and did a top notch job, so far I couldn’t be any happier. I feel that there are some shady companies doing solar, Clinton and Johnson solar are definitely an exception, they are excellent. I would not only recommend them, I would hire them again if I was thinking of doing more panels or batteries, they simply do great work. Don’t hesitate to contact them

Excited with our new solar system that Clinton and team installed. Johnson Solar was actually recommended to me by a contractor (who I trust) I've used several times and I was not disappointed. Clinton had a competitive quote, actually had the products (no delays from covid), and was very communicative from the start. Install went smooth and his team made sure to take all of the trash with them and left my place clean.

Johnson Solar beat all competitors by $4000. Not to mention, they installed my panels in 1 day and it only took 3 days until my service was turned on by SDG&E. I recommended them to all my neighbors and 2 of them also got their solar installed with the same fast installation and activated service by SDG&E. Two of my neighbors went with other companies and it took 6 weeks for their systems to get activated. So, I highly recommend them to everyone I talk too, because their service is top notch, which shouldn't shock me, because Mr. Johnson is a Navy Veteran.

Clinton Johnson of Johnson Solar installed 46 solar panels in 1 weekend with his outstanding crew. Clinton the owner was onsite during most of the install which went extremely smoothly. Clinton is the consummate professional, extremely detailed oriented, avoiding problems with his great planning. I would recommend Johnson Solar to anyone. It was a pleasure working with Johnson solar crew. The crew was able to schedule the installation a week before agreed date and I had my solar up and running in less than 5 days (including weekend). They are well informed and knowledgeable to perform the installation. Our house's roof has some issues with tree shade in the front and they were able to quickly figure out the best possible solution. I would highly recommend them!

Johnson Solar was recommended to me by a friend who was very familiar with the many construction issues that I had building my home, as a result of an incompetent general contractor. No frills company. Just what I was looking for. I needed to add more solar to my existing system and Clinton got me a quote and was able to install 5 new panels the next day. Very satisfied with their work. New panels on west facing roof are producing over twice the power of my 10 south facing panels during the peak 4-9pm time period.

Clinton was the first solar company we contacted but he recommended we get a few more quotes before we made our decision. After meeting with a few other companies it was clear that Clinton beat the competition in price and in completion of the project, we were up and running in 3 weeks, compared to the other companies that said it would be more like 3-6 months. Turns out he had installed solar for a couple of our neighbors and when I asked them for a review they had nothing but glowing remarks for Clinton. I contacted him 11/11/20 and by 12/15/20, SDGE granted me a net metering agreement. Yes that is basically 1 month from my 1st contact with Clinton to me:

Clinton, the owner in high on integrity, extremely knowledgeable and a really great guy. Signed the papers one day, and four days later our solar was complete. Clinton installed my system in October 2019 and the system is running smoothly as of April 2020. Clinton works like mad to bang out these jobs as quickly as possible. You will very likely talk to him on a Friday and be up and running by the following Friday.
He's one of the only providers who lists a flat rate up front on his website. No coupons or special discounts or "referral bonuses". I shopped around quite a bit before deciding to go with Clinton at Johnson Solar. I tried the Costco people ($$$), looked into Craigslist (no thanks) and even considered hiring people myself to install. In the end I'm so glad I went with Johnson to install solar on 3 of my homes for a few reasons. Price was better than the rest and Clinton stands behind his work. I also liked that he finished much quicker than he said he would. The end product is awesome. He got me some of the best rated panels and the install was quick and clean. I'd definitely recommend Johnson Solar to anyone
