CSHP's vision is that medication use will be optimal, safe, and effective for all people all of the time. CSHP advocates for the professional interests of practitioners in CT before legislative and regulatory decision makers. We encourage our members to become involved in our grassroots initiatives that can enhance their ability to practice.

In 2018, CSHP was proud to celebrate the 70th anniversary of its founding. CSHP has benefited from a long legacy of distinguished leadership (see list of past presidents below). In November of 1948, CSHP held its first meeting at Yale-New Haven Hospital. The meeting was presided over by John Zugich, the 1st CSHP president, 4th president of ASHP, and Director of Pharmacy at Yale New Haven from 1947 to 1951.

Membership is official and acknowledged by email and mail when both an application and dues payment is received. Please do not create a new listing by filling out a new application. If your membership has lapsed, your membership listing may still be available for updating and renewal. Automatic renewal is not required but dues payment on the CSHP web site is an OPT OUT system.

CSHP focuses on professional development for those in the practice of pharmacy and actively advocates to create a positive and productive practice environment that will result in excellent service for both our health care colleagues and our patients. We represent the interests of CT pharmacists, educators, pharmacy technicians and pharmacists in training.

CSHP offers all CSHP member pharmacy technicians evening CE program registration at no cost and substantial discounts on their Catch the Wave and TriState conference registrations. All pharmacy technicians who attend our programs earn CE credit.

All CSHP members may enhance their resumes by presenting a poster at Catch the Wave, submitting an article or abstract to our E-News Brief, serving on the CSHP leadership team, presenting a clinical pearl.We offer educational and social opportunities to network with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy decision makers from throughout CT.
