Very kind and pleasant experience while visiting the doctor, BUT over 9 month period they have failed to file all necessary medical records with my insurance company and sent it to debt collectors even though the insurance company never gave them a denial. Worst of all, I was never billed or contacted about unpaid bills, and apparently, even though the medical insurance had a record of them calling twice, they still haven't provided any documents to properly process the claim. Seems like a scam of some sort.

I chose to start seeing Dr. Allan a few years ago after observing her demeanor and attentiveness in treating my elderly mother. She was consistently on the money with my mom, and now with me (and I'm very different than Mom was as a physically active person who eats reasonably well).
I've been impressed with her insightfulness, thorough intake and questioning, and attention to detail in seeing and treating me. She is much quicker to suggest basic lifestyle choices and treatments than to prescribe medication to deal with the consequences. Examples: exercise and better food choices

I was googling the fax number to send Dr. Allan some docs and wow I cannot believe some of these untrue accusations! Dr. Allan always makes accomodations to see me the same day if I need to on Telehealth and in cases where I may not see her for a while she always remembers me by name when I come back! She is very funny, so accommodating, When I was in a bind with access to medication when I came back from France a few years ago she really helped me get situated back here, and honestly I have a very terrible condition right now, and none of my specialists are getting back to me or taking it seriously

Negative Star if possible. Dr. Allan WAS my doctor until last week. I had a migraine and took my last pill, I got a rebound migraine the following day, and she REFUSED to call me in a prescription for 1 pill. She has a policy that you have to have a physical first. I agree, but this was an emergency, and I made an appointment for the following week, and she still refused. I had to commute on the NYC subway system in rush hour with a migraine, throwing up. Thank you Dr. Allan.

Dr. Is commenting on reviews from 2012, guess their practice is going really well.....if what I said wasn't true where are all the stellar reviews from the past 5 years?
I was just called repugnant and clueless at 5:30 am on a 5 year old yelp review. My case in point- this Dr. Is erratic, untrustworthy and clearly a nut. STAY AWAY from this place, you'd be better off at City MD st least they are nice and professional.

Dr. Allan is a good doctor. Nothing outstanding but no major complaints. My issue is with her billing and management which nickel and dimes you for completely unnecessary items. I was billed for three doctor visits when the doctor wasn't even in the building. I has been receiving weekly B12 shots when I could have just bought B12 vitamins at CVS.
I went for a routine weekly physical, covered by my insurance, and ended up with a an $800 doctor visit. Be Aware!

For the last 12 years, I have been a patient of Dr. Allan's. I write a review each year because each year I see her my health and well-being grows better and better as time goes on. I've stated in my previous reviews that Dr. Allan is professional; thorough, and kind. She takes her time to ensure that my medication is prescribed responsibility and all questions are answered. I trust her opinion and her judgment. She has treated me for numerous medical problems. I am independent and happy today because of her medical expertise. Her staff will help you with dedication and a smile. Thank

I can't take Dr. Allan or her business seriously. Her examination rooms are old and dirty and she always seems frazzled and distracted when visiting with me. I had a billing issue with her and it took me MONTHS to resolve because no one ever returned my phone calls. I went in for a routine physical and she wound up coding my freckles as a skin disease on my physical, which cost me hundreds of dollars just because she wrote down the wrong billing code. Find anyone else. I have and I am much happier.

Bad experience. I was asked to take 2 appointments, one to collect samples and one to go through the results. She turned my annual check up into an office visit because I mentioned bad sleep, and office visit was not covered by my plan the same way as annual checkup. Also, lab samples were sent to a company not covered by my plan although I had specifically asked to check that. Finally, the infrastructure and equipment were old. I do not recommend this MD.

Dr. Allan is simply wonderful. She is very laid back, extremely knowledgeable and I have enjoyed being a patient of hers for almost a year now. This is a great office for both scheduled routines and they're also extremely flexible and accommodating when it comes to issues that arise suddenly. A few months back, I fainted in Grand Central and when I came to, I had a friend call Dr. Allan. They invited me to come to the Midtown office immediately and ushered me into a room. I had a nurse sit with me until Dr. Allan could come in. If your the type of person who needs a fluffy doctor with

I wish I had just turned around.
After a week of headaches and discomfort, I finally headed in to the doctor to find out what was wrong. My girlfriend had told me about her physician - Dr. Allan. She would be fine in a pinch. As I got off the subway, a text from my dad, a GP himself, addressed my symptom descriptions: "You have shingles!"
I figured I would go ahead to the appointment since I was already there, she took my insurance, and I could get a prescription for relief right away. She quickly confirmed that I had shingles, wrote the prescriptions, and sent me on my way. But not

DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR OR OFFICE -- YOU WILL REGRET IT. They have engaged in complete improper billing practices that have caused immense damage to mine and my husband's credit.
Three years after services were rendered, my husband and I received bills from a collection agency. Mine was for almost $1,000.00, and my husband was for around $500.00. I immediately submitted it to my health insurance as these services are completely covered. They then reached out to the collection agency and Dr. Allan's office. I have never in my life experienced the kind of horrific customer service I have at this office. I requested that the lovely Dr. write me a simple refill prescription for my acne medication, but I couldn't remember the name of the medication at the time of the visit. She said it wouldn't be a problem to simply call in the name once I had it. I called it in once, twice, three times, sent a number of emails informing them of the medicine, dosage, pharmacy with address and phone number and even had the pharmacy call to tell them I just needed a new script/authorization for the same medication

I am not a regular Yelp reviewer but I felt that it was necessary to comment on Dr. Jessica Allan because I've seen been to doctors offices in Florida and New York and I've never seen one so poorly run.
For starters, just recently they tried to bill my insurance for a visit that never happened. The office manager e-mailed me the day of the visit and said Dr. Allan had to cancel last minute. Then he goes and files a claim with my insurance company for the visit - that never happened!
Prior to this, I had another issue with an illegible scrip for some tests - I scrambled to get to the test

I've logged on to Yelp to confirm the address of my appointment for today. Unfortunately I've used a few minutes of my precious time to read these untrue and utterly ridiculous statements towards Dr. Allen.
During my visits to Dr. Allen's office, I've always been with care. courtesy, respect, compassion and understanding.
See, I'm always on the go. I don't have time to sit in a doctor's office looking for some one to feel sorry for me, to pet my ego and talk to me as if I were sickly. Dr. Allen is an excellent listener, attentive, compassionate, respectful

If it was possible to give this doctor a zero, I would. I went for a simple annual checkup and ended up with ridiculous bills, which keep coming months after the service. I have tried to dispute them but am ignored or treated extremely rudely by her obnoxious staff assistant, Bill Tomic. The office visit was rushed and I was treated extremely rudely.

I second the experience of the other person here. If you are looking for a professional doctor - stay awary from Jessica Allen in NYC!! The young woman, Stacy, who does the blood tests, etc., was very nice. But the doctor is a maniac - she wrote at least 6 presriptions on each of three visits. I only returned to her because I needed another blood test for a procedure. When I returned for the results and to get her to complete the paperwork for the hospital, she YELLED at me, and I mean raised her voice, telling me that she didn't have time to do this and that I hadn't given HER the correct

Dr. Allan has been my primary care doctor for quite a number of years and I have found her to be caring, thoughtful and almost always gives me as much time as I need to review any information or discuss issues.
Of course, regarding the last review, doctors have days when they're rushed and it seems you got there at a bad time. It's a shame you had a bad experience, but I have been to many others whose manner is always brusque and cold and that's far from the case with Dr. Allan.
When it comes to explaining conditions and terms, she has been thorough, sensitive and very compassionate

If you want to be treated with respect, courtesy and compassion then DO NOT go to Dr. Allan.
Recently I went to see her for a follow up visit to go over blood tests and this was the chain of events:
1. She walked in with the wrong blood tests. And started telling me how I need to go for additional testing. I told her she already sent me for those and that she had the old results. She went to get the most recent results. (ok fine, maybe that was just the paperwork her assistant gave her)
2. She came back in and rushed through the blood tests. Stood up next to me while I tried to see
