The Journey to provide quality, affordable healthcare for working, uninsured people and their families. In 1986, after college, seminary, medical school and his ordination as a United Methodist minister, Dr. Scott Morris moved to Memphis, one of the poorest major cities in America. Dr. Morris knew the need would certainly be there, and if Church Health could work in Memphis, it could work anywhere.
Dr. Scott Morris, a family practice physician and ordained United Methodist minister, founded Church Health in 1987 to provide quality, affordable healthcare for working, uninsured people and their families. That same year, Dr. Morris was appointed Associate Pastor at St. John's United Methodist Church and then began to plan and raise the initial funding for Church Health.

THIS PLACE HAS WENT DOWN HILL IN MY OPINION. MAJORITY OF THE DOCTORS HERE DON'T TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY. YOU COME HERE WITH AND ISSUE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH. OFTEN TIMES NO RESOLVEMENT AFTER THEY TROUBLESHOOT. OFTEN TIMES THE REAL DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT DOES NOT COME UNTIL AFTER YOU HAVE MADE A EMERGENCY ROOM VISIT. TREAT OTHERS HOW YOU WOULD WANT TO BE TREATED. PEOPLE KNOW THEIR BODIES BETTER THAN YOU. NOT EVERYBODY FAKING OR TRYING TO GET A FIX. SOME REASONS WHY MANY CHOOSE TO NOT GO TO THE DOCTOR.IF YOU WANT YOUR TIME WASTED COME HERE D- GINA PHYSICAL THERAPY ONLY EXCEPTION. GREAT JOB!A+

I’ve been a patient of Church Health Dental for close to 10 years now, and I’m so grateful for the staff and providers. I am a Memphis Plan participant (through Church Health), and I’m always treated with kindness and dignity and professionalism. Even when I have follow up questions about my referral or next steps or something else, I’ve never made to feel like I have a dumb question (which I always my fear). I truly love Church Health.

Dr. Walsh is the best . She didn’t rush and I really felt like I was in the best hands . She cares. Today I had today come back for a check up and she wasn’t here . I received the most rushed rude service today . I guess it’s Friday and everybody ready to go home but they need to remember there are still patients coming in that are in pain and need the best care .

Seems like a fine enough place but they totally mislead me into paying $40 to be told that because my boyfriend isn’t already a patient they can’t help him. I told the person I scheduled an appointment with that he needed to see a urologist (we were recommended to come here after another clinic was unable to provide a referral). She said that he would have to get a referral from a doctor here and couldn’t just schedule directly with the urologist before getting a referral, leading me to believe that if we saw the doctor first then he could give us a referral afterwards. I was super straight

Got tested for COVID-19 and was tested positive. My employer required physical proof of the test results as I was paid 2 weeks to stay at home. After church health called me to tell me I tested positive they told me they would send me a letter in the mail. That was 4/17/2020, as of 5/01/2020 I have not received that letter. After numerous phone calls and being told several times I couldn't get my results one day and the next day being told the results will be emailed to me just to not have them emailed at all. I finally went down to their clinic and demanded the test results to be given to

2007 my young doctor told me I had to get a colonoscopy. I didn't want one. I was an older lady with a young doctor from Church Health Services. Make a long story short, I had severe migraines and no health insurance but I had a job. I was eligible for CHS. TennCare rep. recommended it because I just moved to Memphis. This little lady doctor turned out to be the best and I have had some doctors in my day. She new I was sick because of the symptoms I was having and lost weight quickly. CHS sent me to St. Francis and I had one the best colon cancer doctors. I still call him every year and

Don't leave me in the lurch
And don't call off the search
Don't knock me off my perch
Just take me to the church
Health, that is.
I appreciate this Health Organization because they paid for a fantastic and wonderful YMCA at the same Concourse where they are located, but unfortunately not enough people are using it because it's a really good facility and I think it could benefit from having a lot more people using it as would be happening if this opened up in my town or most places to be honest. It may just be a Memphis thing.

If you are unfortunate enough in Memphis to be without insurance, Dr. Scott Morris has created a wonderful solution to obtain medical treatment.
They have doctors in the facility in addition to having access to a wonderful network of specialists that you can be referred to see. So far, I have been referred to several of Memphis' finest cancer specialists for my treatments. Everyone has been so supportive and informative and I have a positive outlook for my future!

Thank you Lord for allowing for Free Clinics to help those in need. I have received Levothyroxine (Levothroid, I've been on this medication before) for my hypothyroid & Losartan for my BP medication.
I wanted to share my experience of today's events. I ask for prayer that this new BP medication works with no side effects.
The medical assistant was awesome. He listened to my concerns and would pass them to the doctor. The nurse that came to draw blood was awesome! Didn't feel a thing. I am so terrified of needles I was impressed she took her time and it did not hurt.
