A good therapist must not only be a skilled professional, but they must be able to understand the complex world of emotions and how they are communicated through various behaviors, thoughts and helpful or not-so-helpful defenses.

Because children are moving through emotional, cognitive, behavioral and social phases which most adults have mastered, it is important that the therapist have significant experience and training in working with children. As important, is the ability to create a safe haven where all things can be shared, explored, understood and mastered.
