Services
Otolaryngologists are often referred to as "ENTs" or ear, nose and throat specialists. Another name for the specialty is "ORL" or otorhinolaryngologists. As the name infers, they're doctors trained to manage and treat issues of the ear, nose and throat and of the related muscles and structures of the neck and the head.
A case of laryngitis that lasts for more than two weeks is generally considered chronic. If you experience hoarseness over a long period, it's important to have it evaluated by an ENT voice specialist. Chronic laryngitis can result from simple strained voice, but it can also be caused by a variety of other underlying problems.
Dr. Gwen S. Korovin is a trusted throat specialist who treats actors and singers of all genres and at all levels from amateur to world famous. Her skill in professional voice care has drawn top singers to her practice from Celine Dion to Ariana Grande, Mick Jagger and Patti LuPone, to name a few. She also provides great care to attorneys, broadcasters, teachers and others who use voice in their professional lives.
It's important to pay attention to the condition of your voice if you want it to keep on sounding good. Every voice has a different capacity in terms of how far it can be pushed before it starts to strain. If you depend on your voice for a living or you want to develop a career as a performer, you need to learn what your limits are and stay within them.

Dr Koriviin has been my ENT doctor for three decades. I have always trusted her as she has delivered compassionate and competent care where other MDs have simply clucked and suggested cough syrup. I'll continue to see her as long as she is lucky enough to practice here and I am lucky enough to get an appointment with her.
